This isn't a single player game, and that's not really the attitude you should be taking.
Games like that DO exist, but they're not MMOs. Not being able to find groups to do content is an inherent problem with the genre that you must assume going in. If you play an MMO "single player" you may as well be playing Monopoly single player. It's the same experience.
Not wanting to group in an MMO is like playing a fighting game and not wanting to throw punches.

The issue is stuff to do during the queue, which pre-50 is something to progress your class, and post-50 something to do, and post-50 all you have is TT and zodiac. Zodiac is only viable if you have stuff to do for it that does not involve queuing, such as killing world mobs for books as one example. As I said, for pre-50 lifting the weekly challenge log limit would solve that issue instantly, so you can start the categories you completed over without needing to wait for a reset. I'm not crafting simultaneously because I can't multitask or things get confusing with inventory space and other things. If I'm leveling a disciple of war I am leveling just disciple of war. I have no reason to spiritbond. I can't do crafting at same time anyways because of space for materials and gear in inventory, which is why I prioritize which roles I am leveling at any given time. I can't have an inventory full of crafting gear, mats, and combat gear at once. That's why when I'm leveling disciple of war I put all disciple of magic, land, and hand gear in retainer storage.Quote:

am i doing it? yes. is it a valid solution? yes. do i fault anyone for deciding to just friggin' unsub rather than do that? absolutely not. the players willing to put up with this are minority contingent and it shows when content droughts like this are happening
we literally have over twice as many DPS jobs as non-DPS jobs. and while I believe there's no magic bullet solution to tank and healer shortages, queues of up to an hour for DPS players trying to do casual endgame content is literally something I have never experienced in any other major game ever, including several literally dead ones like aion. something can and hopefully will be done in heavensward between shiny new jobs and the ability to solo or semi-solo very casual content, but "basic things sensible players hope are fixed in heavensward" is kind of an endlessly growing list of basic design competencies this should have exhibited by 2.3 -

Make 3 other DPS friends and queue up the appropriate dungeon! My boyfriend, another couple, and I leveled up our nins this way and had LOTS of fun! Did baby haukke up until the final boss due to no real healer.

Dps queue times are a good time to catch up on shows on Netflix or games on your handheld console.
I leveled almost all of my jobs to 50 doing fates while in queue. Doing fates solo is not that bad. -

I think it will get worse when the expansion gets released.
Problem is the people that are playing now have to hurry and finish the content before the launch.
The ones who get left behind will have to struggle.
This happened in FFXI and people used to say well get your Linkshell to help, problem is some people didn't wanna do the content again since they done it so much they were burned out on it and some content was super hard for them to even attempt to try again, I tried to help in FFXI but also became burned out.
That is when they decided to gimp chains expansion so that at least you could solo it, though they didn't gimp it for a long time.
Here it will be the same issue, longer duty waits since its based on dungeon and this is their mistake having everything a dungeon.
Once they get far enough with a 3rd expansion its going to be harder to get stuff done.
Some of the elitist will get angry just like they did in FFXI if the content is gimped and say things like "I had to do it hard but they get it easy" though if you want people to keep playing you are going to deal with it. -

When you queue up, it really is in your best interest to do other things. You mention TT. You're OK with doing TT, which can't be canceled why in progress, while waiting on a queue, but not ok with leveling another class at the same time? or crafting? Or hell gathering?
You have 100 inventory slots JUST for things that aren't equipment. I'd suggest you utilize them. Level a gathering profession.
You can switch classes at literally the push of a button and you're complaining about multi-tasking being hard. I...really don't think this is the game for you. -

Hey at least you don't get kicked for being afk while waiting in queue like most other games :)
But short answer, if you can't deal with the queue times and you absolutely insist on playing dps, then it may be time to move on to some other game like Wildstar where each class has 2 roles by default. -

Pretty much what I have gotten from this thread is over half of the people replying have not read the entire OP as they suggest things I already do, failing to realize that limit SE put on that content, or they mention making friends and socializing, which is something else I do, but no one wants to do that content as they are burned out of it, and DF/PF, which I also mentioned doing is also grouping and socializing. People are not reading entire OP. Only about 6 or 7 replies in this thread have been sensible replies, while everything else completely overlooks most of what I said in the OP. I never said anything about not socializing and also never said anything about not doing anything during queue. Problem is SE has a limit on all of those things you can do during a queue, and some of those things don't need limits, such as leve allowances, or weekly reset for challenge log. Saying SE can't do anything is definitely wrong. I already pointed out some, plus SE themselves mentioned a plan they will be implementing for solo dungeons, most likely for situations like mine where content is dead and no one doing it and no one wants to help.
Basically no one has a solution, but thanks anyways. At least someone from Levi saw thread and offered to join up with me in case I don't un-sub.
