yoshi p additional detals on jp forum

Yoshi and the DEvelopers used the very same method they used when coming up with FC housing pricing - if I understand this correctly they took the total sum of gil existing in a given server, averaged it out among all players and made the pricing decision on that, regardless if each player had as much as the Developers math worked it out to be.. Which is completely wrong and grossly inaccurate, obviously. I am beginning to wonder if they even ran that faulty method before establishing housing costs and flipping that switch - did they just use the data they used when releasing FC Housing? lol

I am glad the Japanese are hopping mad. We are united in this across regions and Yoshi and team need to fully acknowledge that on this housing issue and think twice before implementing what they think might be a mega-derp on their end.

I'd much rather they use median gil income than average. Heck, I was told in high school that averages were never a good indicator when it comes to population. Median is so much better when making a decision such as this.

This game throws gil at you in so many ways from the duty roulettes and achievements. And who are you to talk about "most players?" You realize they have actual data on how much money each player has right? Don't confuse being poor with that meaning everyone else is poor because that's simply not true. Personal housing should have told you that.

You do realize that having data and analyzing said data correctly are not the same thing right? As others have said using median, or even mean, rather than average (as it has been reported) makes a huge difference.

Also, who are you to talk about "most players"? You know as much about "most players" as the person you criticized. Citing the pricing SE decided to use for housing (as you did) becomes irrelevant to how much gil each player has if the statistic they choose to use if to determine said price was flawed from the start (see above).

Love the high-horse approach though. Always fun to see someone come in with guns blazing criticizing people for doing things they are doing themselves. Using assumptions to bitch about assumptions always makes for great entertainment.

Oh and before you assume I am complaining because I cannot afford a house, that is far from the truth, I just had to chuckle at "pot meet kettle" approach you choose to use.

Instanced Personal Housing would've saved the servers a lot of trouble, since houses wouldn't be loaded unless players were actually in them. (If there are planting systems, the game wouldn't render it GPU-side on the server, instead just ticking the data database-side.)

The devs can hop on the JP forums anytime and read, but to know whats going on in our forums they would have to sit down with a translator or get summaries mailed to them or something. So its not surprising they are more aware of what is said there, where they can easily/unofficially follow vs having it be some sort of Community Feedback process like it probably has to be here. (Having done both as a dev myself, you definitely dont get the same sense of feedback when you just read summaries from people whose job it is to follow User Forums as you do when you read them yourself!)

Because the macro-economic policy that they're using is to make Gil a meaningful and rare commodity. Thus, the strategy of using large weak deflationary force to counter the small strong inflationary forces that are in the game.

Seriously, if the supply of land is small, and the demand for land is high, prices are going to be relatively high. Why people are shocked by this is beyond me.

He's saying, I think (japanese is a little rusty) that Yoshi has too much contempt for users/players.
