Expansion Jobs Speculation

The new Gun Class will be a tank. I'm calling it now based off of how they are introducing Rogue. I.E. a character already in the game is that class. (Thancerd is a Rogue)

The job will likely be based off of Rhitahtyn Sas Arvina. You will use 2 Gunshields to block and attack.

He also wasn't a native of the Garlean Empire, meaning we could come across his homeland in a future expansion and learn how to fight like him there. or (Like Rogue/Ninja) Refugees from that nation could show up in Eorzea.

Or it could be a Gun blade ^_-. Maybe a base gun class, a corsair job, and a melee job wielding a gundblade job.

So? Nobody said anything about role. The context is automatically having the job at 50 because the base class already is (Arcanist in the case of Summoner and Scholar). I don't ever have to play Summoner to have it at level 50 already because I leveled it for Scholar. That is the point, not roles.

just a crazy though but what if the new healer is wyvern knight. think ff11 drg plus all the missing drg support skills like reis wind.

Lancet-Reduces enemy's HP and MP recovering your own
Reis wind-Casts Regen on entire party
White Draw-Restores MP of all party members
since ff11 drg was supposed to be like a falconer the weapon should be a battlestaff it can perch on

I've read those translations, and what they boil down to is that no respectable city would publicly sanction having a Thieves' Guild. Which makes a lot of sense.

Jobs don't have guilds, though. Jobs are avenues of experience that adventurers independently explore after exhausting everything that their class's guild has to teach them. If, after graduating from the well-known and respectable Rogue's Guild, an adventurer decides to undertake the tutelage of Siegfried, the infamous Thief, to learn some of the less savory abilities that the respectable Rogues left behind them (Steal, Sneak Attack, etc), they can track him down at his hideout to unlock the job.

That's just one possible way Thief could be added to the game, that does not conflict in any way with what has already been stated.

Well, perhaps one way: The fact that Yoshi-P was even CONSIDERING adding Thief as a Class rather than a Job indicates that he wasn't totally familiar with the fact that Thief is one of the Classic Six FF jobs: White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage, Thief, Blackbelt (Monk), and Fighter (Warrior). White Mage, Black Mage, Monk, and Warrior are all Jobs, not Classes. If Red Mage and Thief are ever added, and are NOT added as Jobs instead of Classes, the whole Internet will explode with OCD nerdrage.

I'm hoping for Thief to be in there somewhere.

I personally want Red Mage. Something that can take cross class skills from everything else, and has a much wider range of armor/weapon possibilities, but takes a large stat nerf to keep everything level. It could be an interesting equalizer, but I don't know how it could be implemented classwise, because technically you could have a red mage as a healer, tank, or dps depending on the spec

I'm sure we'll see more weapon based ranged classes soon as well.

I want a Whip class. Maybe an evasion based tank class using a whip.
