Again, interference doesn't mean physical action. Just as a point, that there WoL that they throw on the floor in the banquet hall is a Second Storm/Serpent/Flame Lieutenant of one of the three Grand Company leaders in attendance there. There's already a two in three chance that a foreign power has, according to the fit-up, made an act of war againt Ul'dah. Teji certainly wasn't holding back with the accusations, so it comes down to 3 possibilities in my eyes as to why he didn't:
1) writers didn't think of it.
2) too much hastle making a change in dialoge to implicate the corresponding foreign power, or to damn the Flames even more.
3) Teji and the syndicate want to cement their grip on power with as little grief as possible. Having one or either of the other two start a war over it isn't going to sit well with the public as it'll lead to civil war, or the monitarists getting ursuped themselves. I highly doubt that they could ever convince the public that the WoL really did kill the sultanate, so I personally think that galvanizing Ul'dah into one mind against the WoL/other 2 factions is very unlikely.
So, if we take option number three, one of the other two could of said something. There's alot of choice words that could of been said. Even if it was to warn against anything happening to the accused until after a falr trial. That could of bought them and/or others time to enact an escape plan in the near future. Instead, Teji ran his mouth off and we are where we are now.
to be more precise, it's "duty > The Praetorium" you won't see this @ the main story line section.
I was looking for these @ main story line initially and no luck...I found something odd @ someone's diary screenshot...
and I can't believe that I defended him a few pages back too >"<

Basically this. It makes me scratch my head when people say "because political ramifications" but fail to consider our own political ties and their ramifications. It kinda makes me disappointed that this is an MMO because if it were a single player game that actually took your choices and affiliations into account this kind of thing could've been a world changer (within Eorzea, not the games industry, mind you) but instead, it's just in this safe bland bubble that doesn't really affect anything.

To be honest, I also think something is weird with Tataru on her last quest, and I just started to like her more. -____-
The GC leaders do effectively support us politically. The Seedseer has publicly announced that Gridania believes the accusations are false.
The point is they couldn't do much right then. If we were about to get executed on the spot sure. However we were quite lawfully being detained for a crime we were accused of. Further, they couldn't help Raubahn because he was commiting a crime. Lolorito was right technically. Adding Raubahn would have been assisting a man guilty of murder of a political figure.
If we had been hauled off to a cell then its likely we would have seen more of their aid. Currently their aid is mainly completely ignoring the accusations against us. As crappy as it is the GC leaders need to maintain a pretence. If the Eorzean alliance crumbled completely, Garlemald would see an easy target. They may hate it but they still need a functioning Ul'dah to hold up its end of the Alliance. Their best option is to bide their time and hope the truth will come out and the situation will turn on the Monetarists.
Its worth noting that politics is working against the Monetarists as much as it is working for them. The Immortal Flames influence has been reduced but the Monetarists can't just remove them. Further, they can't move freely against us without having to tiptoe around treaties and issues of jurisdiction. These are political weapons our allies have actually used in our favour and its the reason we still have so much freedom of movement in Eorzea.
The core issue for us is that sitting still makes us a potential target and setting up shop in Gridania or Limsa would open have major political ramifications for either city. Remember they still need the Eorzean Alliance, even as a pretence. The crystal braves, who have far more freedom of movement, compound the issue further.
I think the Monetarists end game is Omega. I think they just want us out of the way and unable to interfere which we almost certainly would have if they had gone for it while we still had free reign. They would likely have been happy enough to leave us and the scions locked away in cells. I suspect they think that Omega will give them the power to hold of Garlemald and strong arm the other states to do as they want. Do remember we are talking about a weapon designed to take down Bahamut.
OK few musings and points / questions.
Firstly I don't think they would kill off all the scions, if they did they might as well have thrown in an NPC character called Sean Bean or got George R Martin to write that scene!
The Crystal braves comment about "the others" as posted earlier in this mamoth thread points in that direction.
I skipped the last few pages of this but I havn't seen anyone mention anything about Tataru. She was very shifty in cut scenes and also dealt with the scions accounts, I am sure she has something to do some hidden agenda and she could be causing some trouble later on or is that Koji and team trying to make us think that way.
Also as mentioned a few times here I so want to see Raubahn have a gun arm, maybe cid could barrat him one.
Uriange I am on the fence about, is he a double agent for us or was he spying on us for the ascians, forcing us to kill the ascian Nabriales for them as he was damaging their overall plan, also killing moenbryda to as she had developed a weapon which could kill them.
And why did that pedler have a Yorkshire/Lancashire accent? A cross between Fred Dibner and Guy Martin. And why was Pippin so Pipio aye ey posh english aristocrat? crumbs. Theres got to be a whole side story to him rescuing Raubahn and going on a revenge stream, maybe even rescue the other scions that (see above) may be imprissioned?
Theres some good analysis from Mr happy and crew here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjRQ58RqONE
