I got taught that i should use my cds from shortest cd to longest cd
And things like reprisal and, as said before, Arms lenght are really good skills

Also if the tank hp goes down double the speed then you can spam your heals, it‘s a tank issue

People need to learn that tank cooldowns in leveling dungeons are important
Pop your invuln if you have to…
Dps aoe is also super important

Dying is not always a healer issue, only if the healer refuses to heal

People really look at all their mitigation and go like „only for bosses“ or invuln only for emergencies even if LD and HG are super good for pulls lol

Synastry is most often used on a single target for extra Benefic II healing on that same target.

Using your GCD single target heal in Holminster is fairly common because wall pulls hit like a truck. But you're right AST does suffer a bit there. You have no aoe stun like WHM, no Kardia or Embrace and no CI yet, so once you exhaust your oGCD's it can be rough.

Yeah but CU also gives a short damage reduction which does help
And ye, synastry works on singletarget, too!

But he‘s also right, ALWAYS be prepared to use benefic II for pulls like for holmister
I have learned, that rather than yeeting out all ogcds in one pull, i use a few and spam Cure/Benefic II or whatever for a bit

Also, i dont loathe if i have to cure in pulls because the enemies actually hit hard
I actually quite enjoy it because using my heals in a planned manner doesn‘t happen a lot.
If it means cure spam for a few seconds to stabilize my cooldowns, so be it, more fun than what most dungeon pulls are

Unfortunately, there actually were instances of two different people taking damage, and there were a couple moments I probably would've liked to target myself with it. It was surprising how SGE ended up with such a loaded kit in comparison, down to Druochole/Taurochole feeling like a better Essential Dignity.

It's only for about five seconds after the shield drops. The main crux, though, is being near the tank during a pull to use it, or near the entire party for raidwide damage.

On an unrelated DF note, the EX3 experience is mostly the same. Latest group had an accidental early wipe, two people die/get rezzed/die again just before towers, tank lb come out too late, and both healers accep raises with everyone dead and lament the lack of a healer LB3, followed by a quick disband.

Holy gets to at least negate damage entirely, even if it's clunky in its own right with the long cast time.

Having one 40-second ED charge would start feeling like a ripoff in dungeons right around Holminster, if not sooner. SGE barely uses up its three Addersgall charges, which are also free and take 20 seconds to fill, and the potencies of Druochole/Taurochole shine since you aren't waiting to use them. Then when you finally get a second ED charge at the tail end of ShB, SGE gets Kerachole upgraded, which is almost another Taurochole.

Alas, I was a RDM rezzing people in that EX3. It was a peculiar scenario where the healers accepted late raises, giving a false impression that a healer LB3 would be a normal strategy there.

Guess I'm just used to every healer having better things than WHM. I find ASTs healing on big pulls incredibly strong, i'm just too afraid of letting Earthly star and Co. do their full work sometimes.
I personally find Kerachole better than Druochole and after Kerachole a taurochole.

It's mostly the first pulls that hurt and WHM has not a singular lilly for 20 seconds, so---
While Holy is good, there's sometimes just no way around being a Curebot for a bit, which I STILL don't mind, i like spicy pulls. So i'm really just used to preserving my ogcds and other recources because whm just doesn't have that many. Always be prepared for dungeon pulls that hurt from the get go to require Cures/benefics etc.

But you're not wrong with Sage and Sch having stacked kits as i said, lolz
They're really good

And I see, unfortunate but just seemed like a misunderstanding, people sometimes are quick to disband

Quite unsure how chaotic your run was.

As an AST in Holminster, I’d probably give the random tank plenty of breathing room by stacking at least 3 types of regen when the tank’s about to make their stop (i.e. running ahead with Asp Helios > Asp Benefic + Collective when the tank gets close… or just run close enough with that instant asp benefic to weave that bubble) while letting the star grows. Usually by the time GCD regens starts to run out, Essential and/or Star would be there say no to all those damage taken. If I’m feeling extra I’d refresh Asp Benefic & weave that Celestial Opposition to keep the regen running. By the time this round of regen runs out, mobs should pretty close to death. This way gave me plenty of time to spam Gravities for the most of the pull duration & I’m able to keep my healing abilities ‘rotating’ nicely to last every pulls comfortably. Benefic II w/ or w/o Synastry usage are quite rare unless mistakes are made or tanks are slacking on their cooldowns. The Asp Helios at beginning, Collectives, and Oppositions are usually enough to patch up the DPS who accidentally ate bad things.

Healer woes. I'm leveling WHM on an Alt, and I do a 50-80 Roulette. Got Stone Vigil (Hard). Tank has lower HP than the freakin' DANCER. They're like, 60-70 points higher than mine. Okay, so they don't have great gear. Neither does the melee DPS...who still has over 300 more HP than the Tank. It happens, and we have to take the dungeon a little slower, right? Still getting used to doing wall-to-wall heals again as a Healer anyway, and I've been up all night (hello, fellow night shift people). This should be interesting, right?

NOOOPE! (And, a little yeah.)

This person goes whole hog from the very beginning, wall-to-wall, running ahead and behind turns. I Benediction them, then try to Swiftcast Holy. They're dead before I can even complete the combo. I Raise instead, pump out a Holy, then focus on keeping the DPS and myself alive until they can rez. The next pull, they go a little easier-2 groups-and I'm still having to play Healbot. Their HP drops so quickly, I basically have to chain cast Cure 2 to keep them alive. I ran out of MP! I never run out of MP! The entire run is like this from beginning to end.

Only saving grace is I'm pretty sure they were using their cooldowns. But I never got a chance to notice, cuz my eyes were glued on their HP bar which is going down by 1/3 with each auto-attack. Every freaking time. WITH REGEN! We wiped like half a dozen times, never at the bosses, though (no, the bosses were cool and went swimmingly, actually)! The worst was the final hall. We wiped like 4 times there alone.

Now, my fault in this was in not asking them to slow down, take one group at a time. That's something I need to work on. Text entry is just hard on a controller. But, neither did the Tank, either. Not even a snarky "You okay there?", or a "Get a grip, dude."

I dunno.

Oh, and I looked them up after I got out. They have classes in the 50s-90 range, and their gear on Lodestone is both relatively class-appropriate and should have conceivably put them near the Ilvl cap for the dungeon. And I don't think they boosted. But that doesn't make any sense, cuz my Alt's got Warrior at lvl.51, and even at Ilvl 84, he still had over 1000 more HP than the tank.
And that was with relic gear and lv.1 accessories. And an Ironworks axe.

It is very possible some of their gear was broken and they forgot to repair it. Unfortunately you can't force someone to repair their gear in-dungeon or even in-game, unless a votekick sends the message hard enough through their teeny tiny tank brains to fix your gear.

As for your text on controller, I highly recommend getting a keyboard for your console. Even the normal keyboards should work for consoles, keep 'em plugged in just for cases like these.

Apparently I'm at fault for daring to go inside the belly with a good chunk of my party plus my co-healer while in Alliance B for WoD, like we normally do.

How dare I, as a healer, go inside the belly when our war tank decided to stay outside because he wanted to be THE tank for the entire run.
How dare I, as a healer, prioritize making sure we don't wipe over keeping watch over a single war tank that died due to not getting heals from other healers, or being the smart one and passing on aggro to another tank when he saw our UI go grey. I have seen 7 stacks before, it's not pretty.
How dare I, as a healer, entrust good judgement and good faith into the other alliance's healers to babysit our full mentor war tank that has been IMMEDIATELY yeeting the bosses the second he enters the arena instead of waiting for people to get there.
How dare I, as a healer, benediction another alliance's tank because their healers were just being green dps and would immediately eat floor while Cerberus builds up his stacks again and starts to eat people.
How dare I, as a healer, make the full mentor war seethe in anger and envy over not being constantly cared for.
HOW. DARE. I.

It isn't the end of the world, fellow war. Perhaps turning off stance and letting another tank take aggro would be the wiser idea over getting upset at your own healers for going into the belly with a good chunk of your own party to do the mechanics.

Nah you're fine. I've had people nearly wipe in the belly cause not enough people go in to help. I make a point that if I'm in B or C...I'm going into the Belly to just make that mechanic go by faster because Alliance C only needs to have 2 people to get chains...and sometimes it's not even C who grabs the chain but someone in B or A.

Starting a pull by dropping their Salted Earth. AoEs for like 10s then sprint ahead toward 2nd group of mobs. Cooldown usage are very random & sometimes nothing used at all. The latter happened right when I auto ran to the wall pull before 1st boss and accidentally spawned the last set of mobs. We wiped once there. I apologized (and secretively chastised myself for Haima'ing myself in that confusion lmfao) and we moved on.

After first boss they continued this "stop for 10s after dropping Salted Earth then sprint ahead"-behavior. On top of that, they also stop juuust at max range before aggroing trash packs for like 10s before actually pulling. -Everytime-. I took a peek into their search info, saw they have all tanks on 90.

I saw a dragoon exhibiting those behaviors the other night, minus the obvious "being a tank" part. I found it highly suspicious.
Did the DRK speak at all? The DRG I ran into didn't, and I am at this point convinced it was a bot - and not a very good one, either.

They did in fact spoke when I apologized for that first wipe: "no worries my invuln didn't pop either."

I would think they're a bot too, if they didn't make a peep.

Just had someone start insulting me in Brayflox(normal) for not aoeing... as a healer. To make matters worse I'm playing Sage, so technically I do, it's just capped at 2 charges and doesn't have 100% up time, but it's seriously like they didn't realize that healers don't get their aoes until level 40ish. It's so exhausting when people do stuff like this because even though I'm right I just don't have energy to sit there an argue.

Please. It's midterm week for me. Just let me do my roulettes and weeklies so I can get back to tormenting myself.

You can "trick" bots very easy by stopping and observing.
When the bot is a DPS then tell the group to wait outside, pull the boss and move back out.
The bot will blindly follow into the Arena and die there alone.
For a tank bot you do the same or write something like "i need a moment".
He will engage alone, die and return without complaining to do the same again.

Or, hear me out, if your tank has been MTing the entire dungeon and is still continuing to do so when you get to Cerb, you could stay out with him as his healer. Just because you were B doesnt mean you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO ENTER THE BELLY. The other alliance people should be going into the belly as well, so there should be plenty of DPS already, the MT's healer isn't also needed. And as for instantly yeeting bosses? Well, it's a level 50 raid, and that's pretty normal.

I can imagine a post like this from the tank's perspective...

How dare I, as a tank in alliance B, have to become main tank because my co-tanks refused to put on stance (just one possibility why the 'full-mentor' tank may have felt the need to MT. Maybe they just wanted to. WHO KNOWS, doesn't overly matter - but he was MT)
How dare I, as MT, expect my healers to prioritize healing me whilst I tank bosses instead of doing side-mechanics that others can easily handle.
How dare I, as MT, expect my healers to not pass off their healing duties onto the other alliance healers who seemingly keep dying to things.

Been a while since I ran into a dancer that needs to be prompter to choose a dance partner...RNGesus decided I needed to be visited by two of them yesterday.

Doing 90 roulette, get Smileton and the DNC gets prompted after first pull to choose a partner, and they do right away.

Doing 50-80 get Skala, and the DNC didn't choose a partner until the very end. Like pretty much last pull(not sure when it was actually put on, just that I know I didn't have any Standard Step buff until around the final boss fight).

Though last night seemed to be a good night for dancing. Every roulette I ran(all that give Astro other than Frontline and MSQ) there was a DNC that partnered me(was RPR all night).

Experienced a player from another alliance say "Stop being stupid and turn the boss away from the group" to a sprout tank in WoD. The sprout remained quiet, but they turned the boss away a little after the rude outburst.
If you ever see this, random sprout tank, please don't feel discouraged. That person was unnecessarily ill-mannered and childish.

This sort of stuff is just really sad. One would think a person could start off with something other than insults when they spot a mistake.

Had an issue with a mentor.

For some reason my tab targeting stopped working. I think it happened as I switched to windowed full screen. Idk.

I couldn't target quickly anyway, which was causing me issues switching from healing to DPS, so I thought I would mention it to the group. That way they would know why I wasn't having 100% uptime on the DOT.

Mentor popped up

'ffs. Listen. I'm a mentor. Not IT support'

I wasn't even asking for help. But that interaction soured me on the game for the rest of the night.

Nobody died in the dungeon. I was just finding it hard to target the boss.

Perhaps I should have stayed outside and babysat him because it's clear I can no longer trust random people to do their jobs. His nasty salt in party chat was unnecessary and I was severely tempted to just spam Cure 1.

It was also evident that the other tanks were trying to pull aggro off of him for the entire run, perhaps from voke wars, perhaps from wanting to try their hands at main tanking, I don't know. I heard a lot of them go off that run.

I also wanted to point out that we also had new people trying to clear WoD and explanations on mechanics to prevent people from dying would have been extremely helpful (half the raid literally died to Angry Mango's Doom, 1/4th died to Dragon and don't get me started on Doggie.) However the tank's salt made me salty because apparently the trend now is that any tank I get in DF as a healer will:

1. Never use cooldowns/stance until reminded. Typically I'm greeted with 'I have been' when they're really not.
2. Bite my head off if I don't keep them at 100%. Last one I just got out of a 4-man for said things I literally cannot repeat here.
3. Give absolutely godawful advice because their 'main' is a healer. I've had 3 tell me to just spam cure and nothing else. Gee, that Holy spam doesn't seem to count as mitigation for them. Neither does the rest of my 90 kit apparently.
4. Blame the healer (me) for letting them die because they stood in bad/didn't mitigate that tankbuster when they had eaten vuln stacks. Watched one stand in 4 aoes, die, and screech at me because I didn't spam heals. Eating 4 aoes in 90 content is instant-death, although that Venn-Diagram on that one tank is still hilarious and sad to watch happen.

But no, how dare I, as a healer, try to help the party/raid out by making the dungeon go a bit faster and prevent a wipe and put trust in other people in an MMO. Yes, I'm still salty about that tank getting salty at both of us for that.

I'm reminded of the tanks and party members I've had in Bozja because they didn't bother to do mechanics. Maybe one day I'll post those chatlogs.

Decided to solo Excitatron, made it to the end and got a third feather, and finally saw a music roll drop. Not too bad.

I wonder if tanks are aware that as healers our eyes are fixed on their health and buff bars more often than they themselves are?

Also I have the opposite experience as a tank. I have to tell healers to use more of their kit than just Cure\Benefic\Physick\Prognosis. And I get hit with "I know what I'm doing, I main healer". No honey. You play healer often, you do not main it. Had you mained it, you'd know that the button that says "Healing potency increases the lower the target's HP is, max 30%" exists. You'd know your fairy is more than just summoning it and forgetting she's there. For example.

Some people aren't just tunnel-visioning, they're just straight-up blind.

Decided to do lv90 Roulette as Healer and I got The Dead Ends
I got paired with WAR, MCH and BLM, I was WHM. The first set of mob pull feels a lot slower than I usually be when I ran with randoms
I have terribly anxiety and always think I wasn't doing enough on a given role, but let's press on to first boss.
I've seen the BLM couldn't catch up the DPS with me --a Healer, then I began to think if I overhealed. I checked the BLM's gear after the first boss,
"That is a fine set of Rinascita and Lunar Envoy, I might be overhealing" I said on my mind.

My conscience tells me to focus target the BLM just to see what they are doing, and then I found the horror.
I'm not gonna say that I understand BLM than your average BLM players, it's the least class I would ever click despite being capped.
but I doubt that it's right to spam Blizzard skills when your mp is full.. right?
So what I've seen, the rotation of that BLM was sort of funny on bosses (they did exactly the same rotation on Boss 2 and 3, so I assume the same goes for Boss 1)
Blizzard III > Blizzard IV > Freeze > High Blizzard II, then Foul whenever they got Polyglot. Their MP was intact on full, never went lower than 90%

"Where is the Fire skill? The thunder? And why are you going out of your Leyline when there's no AoE in it?"
I managed to keep them alive however, despite how they entered red carpet way too often for my liking.
That being said, the run takes probably around seven minutes longer than I usually had. An ice mage, if I ever see one, that's the person...

I'm a BLM, just trying to farm some astronomy tomes. Queued to reclear expert roulette and got Alzadaal. The party wipes at 2nd wall pull before first boss and honestly I had no good idea what actually happened but then this exchange happened since the wipe & while the boss fight was on going.

Blue is the GNB. Green is the WHM.

After the boss is dead the GNB just bailed.
Aaand as you can see I was in middle of disconnecting on the background lmao.

A few days ago on Aether in Syrcus Tower right before the instanced started I literally saw alliance A half dropped. We thought the rest of A would drop but they stuck around til halfway lol. It was the by far the oddest thing I have ever seen.

Today was Borderland Ruins in frontlines
And our team did the good ol back and forth between points and middle for nodes and leave after nodes died
I did tell people to leave when they were staying there too long

Sooner or later some people said people SHOULDN'T leave the middle and fight there and that they die because they were left alone
We were 3/2 for most of the fight but did widdle our points up to being first with killing people on the spots we were going back and forth on and going mid early etc.

And people STILL wanted to fight in the middle, so i told them that that's not how the mode works
Like, somebody really said "DONT RUN!"
And i said "no you run, go to points"
Thankfully, everybody else did what you do in Borderland Ruins and DID NOT fight in the middle to feed the other two enemies points, the enemies didn't even stay up there

And apparently, people that don't want to fight in the middle are on crack
But people don't want to feed the enemies points by letting them have the bases at the bottom and dying in the middle...
You go as an army to overwhelm them and get points that way...

Please don't tell others, that say when middle is and which one to go first (first place, people have the tendencies to ignore first places), that they shouldn't shot call
We won because some other people and me kept telling people were to go and if 3-ish people call the same shots, you know that they can't be that wrong, right...

Other people know how to play the different modes, there's only ONE mode you stay and defend your nodes
All others are: Do the thing and LEAVE

So I had a good one last night. The group was actually fine and I wouldn't even be posting this one if it wasn't for the final boss...

So...Gubal Library Hard. We don't see this one often so even people who HAVE done it will probably have forgotten some mechanics. Luckily I did remember how this one went. So like I said nothing big going on but it was getting clear to me that the other 3 were either new or not familiar with it cause they were getting nailed with some of the mechanics. None of them are particularly punishing so it was pretty much an "you made an oops but here's your heal".

However final boss has a death mechanic when it summons Behemoth and he does Meteor. The tank was tanking the boss at the edge of the room so they didn't really see Behemoth being summoned and the other was melee DPS and the other ranged yet close to the boss. I was the only one who saw it coming. I hide in my safe spot and try to rescue the tank but it failed ( guess they had arms length up ) so everyone dies but me. Queue the Swiftcast/raise, follow but double REGEN on me with both Regen and Medica 2 regen, and then hardcasting the summoner. I survive long enough to get him up and then I use some of my single target oGCDs to get me to full. At this point the mechanics are kicking in so I can't focus on raising the other guy yet or I get nailed hard and gain a stack of vulnerability. I eventually get to swiftcast/raise the other guy just about the time we finish.

It was chaotic fun.

Remember kids, the falling pillars for the second boss in Qitana are long cones, and tend to fall where their shadow is leaning toward. This also means you need to be aware of where they could possibly fall, and move as needed.

Don't be like the reaper sprout I had earlier and get flattened not by one, not by two, but by THREE of them. I heard the explosion sound from here.

Maybe they tried to style on the boss like I do and do some last second teleporting and it didn't quite work out that time...

or situational awareness isn't their strong suit.

Had someone do this to me the other day in the same dungeon. Kind of.

I didn't confront them. Savage gear, they were kind of-sort of using mitigations? Just not super consistently it felt like.

Had something similar happen with a WAR in Vanaspati as well. They'd pop literally everything at the same time as they were using BW without spacing it out, and their HP would drop like a lead weight immediately after.

I might give healing a rest for a bit.

Funny, I did Qitana Ravel not too long ago and we had an RDM who missed pretty much every mechanic in the whole dungeon, including those pillars. They didn't resurrect the SGE when they died either.
