People who want to play at a sub optimal level can also do this. Goes both ways. Let’s not put the onus on everyone else all because 1 person thinks they run the party

Because they usually have to go in first with a mob? Because they have the responsibility to aim mob and boss butts in a good position for dps to clap them cheeks? Call me crazy but those two qualifications require somebody to "lead" the group, not have a squishy healer or dps go ahead and pull the entire dungeon risking themselves getting killed due to greed.
Competent healers and dps are by no means "squishy" in this game. Bloodbath and similar abilities when used effectively can prevent wipes and a tankless party can easily get through single-packs of enemies. Why have a tank then? To be able to pull more at a time.
It may be time for tanks to realize they are not the leader. Just the meat shield. A tank is nothing without the healer. A party is nothing without every participant.
Also, since TP is no longer a thing, tanks have no excuse not to pick up what others pull. You still only have to sow as you were before. Mitigate as you should be anyways. Others pulling only makes a real difference on how much attention the healer needs to give to the tank.
so to all the ypyt players out there, pull your socks up, lace up your boots, and do your job. A tanks job is to protect the party. Not lead. Not toss around their superiority complex. Not be the boss or set the pace. Only to protect the party. If you’re not doing that, you’re not tanking.
Healer's cooldowns (used to also be mana) were largely affected by pull size and speed. I feel like healers should control pacing.
While we're at it let's also talk SGE. They need to pop some shields so they will be pulling mobs for a few hits. "You pull, you tank" just doesn't work.
And once again people here love to shut their ears and only twist other's words to fit with their logic. Nobody is saying that the tank is the only one important. OF COURSE everyone has to pull their weight, and of course the tank isnt the "big cheese' of the group. You people are seriously acting as if every tank has this superiority complex when the whole point is that wipes occur oftenly if everybody isnt following suit with their roles. Healers not paying attention to party health, tanks failing to pick up aggro, dps not being careful with avoiding aoes etc. It is indeed a group effort but 9 times out of 10, every dungeon group I have ran we allow the tank to pick up aggro first, because thats the logical thing to do.
I also think what gets people so butthurt about what I say is that they think I support people "intentionally" letting others kick the bucket when they decide to pull for the tank which I dont at all. Thats extremely petty and asinine because that just hurts the entire group and a huge time waster.
A lot of people in this thread do, though. Can be seen specifically when they say that they are the only ones to set the pace and that they will let DPS die to teach them not to pull. That IS a superiority complex. Or alternatively, it could also be an inferiority complex. /shrug
