Yeah, completely different. On top of the latter being more of a sandbox game. Updates will never fully "fix" that game. It'll get better sure.. in maybe two years - if it isn't dumped. That game needed a launch delay of probably a one year minimum, two years more likely. I don't particularly like delays, but sometimes they do need to happen. I wouldn't doubt it was necessary here, especially with the influx of players joining in this year to FFXIV, who will be there for Endwalker launch.Quote:

It's amusing to see how people are only care about themselves...
Many of you are crying because the launch date has been pushed away by 2 weeks... 2 Weeks ! It's nothing ! Because of the Pandemic we are already 3-4 month late. You used your annual leaves on this date ? That's your problem, but you have no right to complain when Naoki Yoshida go down in tears because he though he was disappointing the whole community for ONE decision, just because he tries to do even better for the expansion, thing he always try to do.
Have you ever seen a guy crying on his work because he is late ? Because he think it's disappointing other ? Through this tears, I can only see how much Naoki Yoshida love the game and the community around it. Of course I'm disappointed too, but at least, I understand the reasons for this, and I don't mind him or his team at all. It's like a good alcohol, you let it mature before tasting it.
Remember that Soken, that make the music of this game, maded music while fighting cancer ! He made one of the most incredible music of this game in a hospital ! I will not be surprised at this point, that Naoki Yoshida will be able to do the exact same thing if it happens. (But I wish that will not happen to him)

Please don't cry ! Each time you guys added something to the game, you sended me 15-20 years back in the past. And you did too this time with the Allagan's tome stuff you showed us in the live letter (Cecil, Rydia, Edge and Edward are now in the game ! And I'm glad to see those added in the game. Great Choice !). If someone must cry, it's all the people, like me, who love the nostalgia you bring them, but we cry because of happiness.

Daily reminder that it's not the delay itself. It's the short communication of that delay that most are disappointed about, and it's being told that they're irresponsible and lackadaisical that is actually angering people. Have a think for a second: Yoshi P knew this would disappoint people, because it's a disappointing action to take; ergo, people expressing their disappointment should at least be allowed.
The delay doesn't even affect me, and the vastest of vast majority of people will simply move on. Telling people they're selfish for being disappointed in something is what's going to cause backlash, and it's people getting mad at being strawmanned that has carried this thread on for 43 pages. -
