While I don't particularly like the idea of leaving FFXIV, you're correct in this remark. Money speaks, personal crusades don't.
While i do not disagree with your stance on the business of that GM, i do disagree that "there is no alternative". Maybe it's about time people picked up those discord ads and made them equal and bearable, instead of relying on things like PF.
If there is will - there is way.
Jesus Christ, we're here again.
Doing something for free and being charitable about it still devalues the content for a vast majority of people, especially if it essentially results in the person being to 'declare' non-participation whilst still getting rewards. Not against the ToS however. But the topic here is not about people doing things for free, it is about people Selling. Again, don't misrepresent the argument. Giving something away, and selling it are 2 entirely different things, especially with anyone giving it any modicum of thought should be able to deduce the latter is likely to include RMT, and the former more than likely account sharing. Not even sure why you're defending it tbh
Thing is, /shout is the next-best (and simultaneously, worst) replacement, since it has as wide a reach as the area you're in and just not as wide as PF. But, the double-edged sword comes into play when you get into vindictive people potentially reporting you for spamming.
The other replacements require you to make use of some sort of invite-only internal (linkshell and Fellowship, each limited) or any type of external service. It essentially drives it into features not quite there or designed for it, or off the game.
Might I remind some of the forum guidelines:
