Oi, oi, oi! Don't be givin away secrets like that. You know Lala organs sell for a premium!
Had a tank PLD asking for Esuna on a bleed DoT on the Final Boss. Except, they were spamming Clemency by 60% to 80% HP in Castrum Albania almost all the time and using both Rampart and Sentinel together. Nah, if you want to Clemency, go ahead. I normally can use my tetragrammaton, assize, and my Divine Benison for that since I can outheal the DoT even with my abilities on cd. In worst case scenario, I'll use regen when are on cooldown for a long period of time since regen can just outheal it by itself... but since you want to clemency all the time, I'll just keep on DPSing instead... after all I still have my Benediction untouched for most of the fight since your HP never drops low enough for me to get enough value out of it with those Clemencies ...
Props to the DPS for making those pulls fast though. First time I've seen a group be able to nearly kill all 4 Magitek Pods before Deployment cast is finished in DF. Usually, most groups I end up with manage to kill 2, some barely can kill 3.
Just ran a roulette where a DPS claimed the tank wasn't pulling fast enough, so the DPS pulled everything in the room.
I just let everybody die (I could have healed through it), just to teach the DPS a lesson.
Alas, he just blamed the tank for not holding aggro.
The problem is not directly the DPS pulling but that most dps don't know what to do when they have adds behind them. They just stand away from everything else and expect the tank to move towards them.
It happens far to many times that the DPS who got some adds, accidentally or not, keeps his add hidden in Narnia instead of bringing it into the tank's aoe attack's.
Call it trust issues but I simply do not trust random dps to know what they do when they pull.
I love when people do that in Alzadaal when I'm on tank.
It's been a while since I tanked expert but last time I got a DNC that just dashed ahead every time, triggered the groups that have to spawn first and that stone that keeps summoning mobs early so when I arrived everything was already targetable. They even popped Arm's Lengths and then brought any mobs right to me. Instant comm.
If someone pulls ahead and then runs away though, I'll first tell them to bring mobs to me or not pull ahead if they can't manage that and if they keep doing it, they're on their own if they run out of my ranged attack range.
Remember FFXI, where the group would sit in a safe spot while a thief or ranger would wander off to find a single mob to bring back, because everything could kill you in a few hits.
Lol
I remember being on BRD and doing pulls for merit point parties. Elegy was still amazing.
I remember being told that I have to remain on BRD otherwise I'd be completely useless in Dynamis.
I remember being on BST and being able to relax and do exp/pulls at my own pace in Sky killing pots with flamingo mobs.
I remember being told that, because I had to get off during a single raid run in Sky as BRD because I had work early in the morning, the raid linkshell I was in failed Seiryu because one of the BLMs volunteered to be BRD for the buffs and I was strictly blamed for the failure.
I remember as BRD I went from level 37 to 50 grinding out parties in Crawler's Nest in a 42-hour gameplay session straight. I regretted nothing except for the sheer amount of caffeine I ended up consuming without realizing it to continue grinding.
I also still remember those mob trains people took to the zone entrances and there'd be piles of bodies of people that tried to zone into the area only to immediately die due to them not patching mob despawning until much later.
Good times.
Shouldn't need to be said (again), but... if you want to MT... grab everything. Yes, all the adds. As OT my stance isn't going on (eff tank aggro wars) unless there are big adds that absolutely need to be kept apart... or another tank refuses to grab all the small fry adds... in which case I'm grabbing them and dragging them over to the main group so everyone can aoe them down. Zero reason to keep everything apart in something like the lvl 50 raids, for example. Come on. Bad enough those keep popping instead of something else... When one of them pops I take my lumps and just suffer through it, but I'd rather spend as little time in them as possible.
Another thing... anecdotal I know, but I've seen a lot of DRGs not putting Dragon Sight on anyone. Why...? Takes a few seconds to target someone. Granted, things can get a bit hectic at times and people forget here and there(me!), but I've consistently seen the buff on the DRG in the party window and no one else for entire fights. I don't get it.
Got Troia today, after the first “boss” fight the healer disconnected but we carried on.
This awesome warrior tank pulled wall to wall with no problems, held herself alive throughout everything, we winded up finishing the dungeon just her, a monk and me (dnc). It was amazing to see it possible but also a bit concerning at how unnecessary a healer becomes with a warrior that knows what he’s doing haha.
Nah. That's just WAR in general. You can trounce that place in 610s easily. None of the pulls in there require any sort of input from a healer so long as the DPS aren't asleep at their keyboards and nobody stands in dumb. In fact, even some standing in dumb is fine because of Nascent Glint and Shake it Off.
Sounds to me like they need to

Of course there are WARs that can't manage that. It doesn't matter how low you set the bar, someone will limbo dance with it.
Experts have always been a joke, you could do expert runs without a healer with a WAR or PLD in ShB and if the dps were really good even on GNB. The incoming damage is pitiful even for a whole group that barely meets the requirements but if someone has some crafted gear, they'll delete the entire place.
So we're three wipes into Dzemael Darkhold because the tank isn't geared, does multi-pulls, tanks outside of the crystal veil, but right next to the orange crystals that periodically spam AoEs. And then this happens:

I was playing as a Sage, btw. Incidentally, I wasn't just DPSing. I was tanking pretty much the whole time, too, because in addition to going down like a lead balloon, they couldn't hold aggro. I guess they were mad because I didn't go down with the team on the first pack and managed to successfully solo it (amazing how much more you can tolerate when you actually stand inside the crystal veil). On the particular pull before this happened, I foolishly ran past the orange crystals of death and into the next pack in anticipation that since the tank wasn't pulling back they were going to push forward past them. The joke was on me because they opted to tank right inside the two of them instead.
So just got out of a CF run in roulette and had a 90 WHM that kept Rescuing me when it wasn't needed while I was on BRD.
"Sorry misclick bro!" you said.
Sure. You did it 3 times and nearly got me killed twice. While I appreciate the thought on the first one as a misclick, the two other times made it seem like intentional trolling. I hope you step on a Lego when you get out of bed.
You should playing the vuln stacks game in a group with randoms. You'll find the presence of that healer does not in any meaningful way decrease the number of stacks you can survive. It'll sure as heck tick your party off, though. But you know what? Still not bannable. You're still doing your job, and those vuln stacks just mean you aren't overhealing yourself more than you are healing.
Wont tick off every healer though. I get happy when my tank is sucky. He’s just there to feed my toxicon.

Assuming he doesn't jump himself back to full health first. ;)
For expert I often just write: "don't worry about my health, GCD heals on me are a waste of DMG. I can survive this on my own"
That usually help to get them casting their aoes.
Or just collect extra damage, preferably dots, on dps as well.
Dot uptime is good, yes?
I made a habit of keeping really good dot uptime when running with a healer I know. I have to give them (or the tank) something to do. Can't let them get bored. Dot uptime good. Xiva likes me.
Oh jeez, collecting vuln stacks on DRK. Now that might not go well.
I've been fighting Shinryu since SB early access and I've never seen the tidal wave spawn at the back of the platform before.
So anyway, that's how I was one of seven people blown off in one shot.
P8S clear parties in PF.
99% of the time it's NA1 prog, or LD prog, or anything else. It's horrible and for four weeks I've been in trap party after trap party. It got so bad someone told me "if you want to get a good group go pay for a carry".
I was in LoA for my daily, leveling my red mage. I got aggro during the first boss by the skellies, and started taking some damage.
No prob, I thought, seeing that the white mage sprout in my alliance was right beside me. However, as the seconds went on, they never healed me. They should be healing the tank then, right? Nope. They were just standing there, spamming Stone II. Of course, I died, so the other healer had to rez me.
I honestly think it was a bot, judging from its behavior during the rest of the raid. That, or they were wearing blinders the whole time.
They didn't even use medica, even after we got hit hard! It was so weird. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it was healing anxiety, since they were a sprout, but I've seen first-time sprout healers do comparatively well in the same raid countless times. Oh well.
I'll keep your rule in mind when I (eventually) start healing outside of duty support. Until then, I'll keep procrastinating by focusing on my dps and tank jobs. :p
Shoutout to the group that autokicked me because my power went out for a second which made my modem have to reboot.
