1. IMO, they seriously need to rethink the fact they shortened the 1-25 level curve. Yes, it was painful back in the old SP system. When SP was inconsistent, and me being a CON duoing with my husband the PUG meant he 'stole' all my SP, and it took me months to get my CON leveled. Now, they've got the inconsistent SP fixed and it takes a fraction of the time. I think they should steepen the curve, despite how much it might make people rage. It shouldn't be the cakewalk it is now.
2. Not everyone has R50s. Not all of us put up with the roadblocks of frustration in this game. We took breaks along the way so we'd have the stamina to come back, refreshed. Many people quit in the first month, and I know SE is thinking they'd like to lure them back. Believe it not, there are new players who come to check out this game since it's currently F2P. And we're (hopefully) looking ahead to someday release on the PS3. There needs to be low-level and mid-level content to keep new players. Even WoW, whose mantra is 'Life Begins At Endgame' offers low-mid level dungeons.
Besides, I'm greatly looking forward to the R25 dungeon. :D
Dear SE,
I am uber excited to enjoy the first test of my hard work as a R50 player. This will bring lots of fun and hopefully the first real challenge to overcome.
However, i'm terrified of another long wait, idling at the scraps of things to do in my favorite game.
2 words for you
"how long"
Im excited for that too, but they have been talking about dungeons and pushing it back months and months. How long before Ifrit? What happens if he is your dungeon boss now in 1.18? After a week of these dungeons wait three more months for a battle?
They didn't even do that in FFXI dude. Almost all of the endgame NM's were copies of normal mobs, maybe slightly larger or slightly modified but all of the Sky and Sea gods were copies. Hell, even Absolute Virtue, nearly unbeatable, is a simple copy of an Aern. To some people I guess it matters. To me it's only a "Wow, looks cool, now kill it" the very first time.
For anyone who played Aion I'm sure the first time you saw Unstable Triroan you were impressed but how about 30 runs later? In the end, world graphics matter, gear graphics matter, enemy models don't in the long run. Unless they are epic mission bosses. Personally I would rather they spend time on a bosses skills and AI than what he looks like. Function over form any day, and I'm a flippin Graphic Artist...
