Accessibility would be colourblind options. South paw. Key remapping. Not parsers, shaders and mare. Try and manipulate all you want

There's a difference between accessibility and convenience.
The accessibility options are already in-game. (For colourblind and hearing-impaired. As well as being able to remap your buttons). What ACT would do is not accessibility, but rather convenience, as the game already does it. ACT just wraps it all up with a bow.
Then push for what you want. Ask for change. But as of now, like it or not and we know you don’t, there’s rules. The reason these rules exist is equality. Keeping everyone on the same playing field outside of personal skills and interests.
Doesn’t matter how much you think you’re right. How much you want something. What you think is justified or unjustified. Rules exist for a reason.
While I personally don’t have an issue with some add-ons, including act, it creates an unfair advantage. One I’d rather see the devs address and not Saraide of the forums
That's the thing, a lot of people involved in raiding don't think convenience tools such as ACT or minor UI enhancements are cheating. It doesn't give you any information you're not supposed to have, it just presents them nicely.
Could you reach high level of play without ACT? Personally I believe so, as long as you still make the efforts to improve and seek feedback. I even think ACT isn't really needed as much if you already know your stuff.
Is it easier with ACT? Definitely.
Is it cheating to use ACT? My opinion is still no, because I don't think learning to play your job by looking through the chat log or using jank systems such as Stone Sky Sea is part of the intented challenge of the game. Intended difficulty is the key word, and this is why some add-ons see more tolerance than others, especially mods which remove some unintended inconvenience.
Yes, the devs intended the fights to be clearable without third party tools. But did they want us to never look at job guides and try to ignore the existence of fflogs despite it being a huge part of the raiding community since Heavensward, being an influence in every single job guide, rotation and even their own balancing? Did they intend every fight to be cleared with high ping, disabilities and without voice chat?
Rules do exist for a reason. That reason is not ACT and fflogs, otherwise the dev's enforcement would be different. Thanks to community job guides, xivanalysis and crossplay there is no unfair advantage here either.
Why is that so funny to me, my god :DQuote:

That really put a smile on my face, thank you.
I'm not saying there aren't QoL mods. I'm saying ACT is not accessibility. There are a lot of mods that aren't about accessibility. A lot of them are for convenience. But I know you like to spin stuff from seeing how you speak with others. You don't look for discussion. You look to "win".
I get where you're coming from, but I have to reiterate that I have never said ACT was or wasn't cheating. I was simply addressing previously that there are in game features that do the same thing so ACT is not required to be a better player, and that ACT is about convenience rather than accessibility as all it does is take information from the game. Take with that what you will. I'm not here to discuss whether ACT is cheating or not. So while I appreciate you sharing your opinion, don't get me wrong, I just feel like it's being directed at the wrong person.
