And when the day comes when they add something you're not ok with, it's gonna be too late. It's not "fearmongering" or "doomsaying" when it has happened EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Doesn't matter if it's a US, Korean or Japanese MMO, it's always the same.

OK, there are "server issues" the server software, and there are "server issues" the server hardware.
Most of our issues are software. Things like i/o limitations are hardware. Some of them are mixed.
The issues relating to the EU datacenters at the moment are hardware. They need additional servers because they have vastly outgrown what was in place in the last month and a half.
Also, your best bet at a SA datacenter is the cash shop. That funded both the EU and OCE datacenters.
Just saying.
I don’t think it would be too late. This is a team that reshaped a dead on arrival flop into what it is today. When they misstep, every time, they answer to the playerbase. If nothing else, the team listens. Should they start to step out of line, truly step out of line and not just this overblown cosmetics panic, I can’t see them simply ignoring it. Especially if such a decision erased the trust they worked so hard to build to relaunch the game in the first place.
Being concerned is fine, I’m not going to stop you and healthy criticism is good. It has helped the game be better many times. But people coming out with the end is nigh signs every time something goes up in shop is tiresome and just a lot of fuss over business as usual.
"Everything"? So every single item in the game is on the Mogstation now? Every future cosmetic item will be there as well. News to me. Exaggerating to that extent doesn't help your argument. There are still plenty of great mounts in the game you can earn without spending money on the shop. Get over the damn FOMO, realize you don't need to own everything, and just ignore it like I do. It's not that hard to have some self-control and in the end, you're far happier when you stop worrying about it. The cash shop has been around for years and there's still plenty of awesome cosmetic stuff that they add to the game regularly.
And btw, the development team and the cash shop team are two completely separate groups.
Plenty of people are exaggerating in this thread. Like when people say the devs always listen to the playerbase or whenever they make a mistake they always answer to the playerbase. My comment was an obvious exaggeration, i’m glad you could comprehend it. Fact of the matter is, in the expansion where they couldn’t even give us an mgp or wolf mark mount, and content has been lacking, the least they could’ve done was give us this as obtainable in game to promote engagement in the playerbase. Instead they decided to make a quick buck yet again, yet we haven’t seen our money put to good use it seems based on again, the lack of content this expansion. So please don’t tell me what i should or shouldn’t do. I own a sub, i’m allowed to have an opinion and critique problems when i see fit. When they can’t even make mogstation cosmetics dyable…that’s also pretty concerning but that’s a whole other topic of discussion. This was lazy. It was done in poor taste.
Who the hell cares? it is a mount. If this was World of Warcraft and we had nothing but recolor mounts then I would see the anger, but we have so many unique mounts with so many avenues. How about that polar bear we just got? They give us a new mount atleast every patch and you guys are calling it BS the moment a mount makes it on the Mog-Station. You know what I am going to say when I see the mount? "Oh look! That person got the mount from the store.
I am concerned that mounts based on important characters will be more difficult to obtain.
There are costs involved in developing mounts for games, and developers have to make sure that the benefits outweigh the costs.
In the case of something as elaborate and gimmicky as CC, it is obvious that the cost will be high.
In order to make the profit outweigh the cost, you need to make people sign up for subscriptions for a long time by making them play difficult content, such as 1000 wins in PvP, paying 10 million MGP points, or clearing Savage.
That would mean playing FF14 for a long time, or suffering through content that requires high skill or that you don't like.
At least, that's not something I enjoy at all.
Things that are as iconic to the game as an entire raid boss as a mount, should be in-game rewards. Granted, I also think past events that were obtainable in-game ought to be re-obtainable in-game.
They already make their money selling other items that hold little bearing on player sentiment, like the Red Hare/Nezha wheels/Fatcat etc... Not to mention game sales/expansion sales/subscription fees/bonus retainer fees/fantasia etc...
And it does follow a familiar path very, very few games have successfully traveled on for long.
