I do honestly think its sad where we live in a society that does not want to read, in society where "tl;dr" is used for storylines in games and not just obscenely long forum posts. The U.S. and most of the western world boast 99% literacy ratings, while countries like mexico and many south american countries considered the semi-periphery boast only about a 80%, there are people in this world who wish they could read long walls of text, and we simply give up the right, and created more kids who hate reading, who create more kids who hate reading (i now slippery slope but eff it.) Its just sad when you go to school and talk to kids and more than half claim to "hate reading" and automatically consider older fashion novels and text "boring."
On the other hand, if english is not you native tongue and they don't add support for your language, I can understand why you wouldn't want to read long walls of text. When I read french, i have to break it down sometimes, i just can't tackle it , and in a game setting sometimes there isn't enough time to deduce connotations, especially when its written in somewhat of a cockney accent, or sometimes an old english kind of theme.
Basically promote literacy, and people's desire to read for fun.
