Ok, this thread is NOT about me being mad over items not being accessible to both genders. I simply didn't like male shorts. That's literally it. Please stop throwing tantrums over pixels in a video game - it's never that deep.

Gender restrictions have nothing to do with a fantasy game. If anything, a fantasy game should be totally free of any sort of gender restriction.

Has it ever occurred to you that those people aren't trying to impose their sexual orientation on you while you're trying to impose yours on them? Obviously not.

You are the selfish one, not them. You're trying to force them into your mold. They're just trying to live their lives as the people they are.

What someone's sexual orientation is shouldn't matter to anyone not involved in a romantic relationship with that individual.

Guess what? "Normal" is a concept created by control freaks to try to control what others can be. The truth is that being different is what is normal. No two people are like, except sometimes identical twins.

We need to stop pushing people into hiding because they don't fit what some control freaks want others to be. It's time to embrace diversity instead of limit it.

Some variety would be nice. Give us a one piece sometime and boyshort bottoms would be nice as well. But gives a shawl less version also. And give the boys a buttoned up variant of the top as well.

But my only true request is give us dye able versions of all the old stuff.

I mean even this logic isn't solid because one could argue that their idea of a fantasy has traditional gender roles. What constitutes a fantasy will vary by the person.

It's certinaly not true that those folks aren't trying to impose their orientation. Many are, many aren't. I agree someone's orientation shouldn't matter to anyone but said persons partner...but I say tell that to the folks in game and on Twitter who feel the need to make it known that they are gay/lesbian etc.

Lastly you can't exactly reem folks for pushing their ideals...while then saying things such as "it's time to embrace diversity instead of limit it". Just seems like 2 sides of the same coin really

This Game is made for 12+ years old.
What should children think, when they see a male Charakter with Fishnet Stockings, Tangas or other skimpy ugly Glamours?
Must we force sexual orientations on children in a fantasy online game?
Why can't that be keept out of a Game?
We who dress normal are the normal ones. I can be in real live gay / lesbian / diverse / hetero whatever but I must not bring it into a Game.

The game is actually rated 16+ in some countries.

But i do agree, take sexual orientations back to the real world where they belong.
Not all fantasy games have to be tailored to every single minority audience.

The "required portion" of the previous tower didn't really need depth perception – this game is pretty rubbish on that front for everyone anyway.

It was much better to view the tower side-on and do the whole thing as if it were a 2D platformer game.

From memory there was one spot with a narrow plank where it was better to swing the camera behind you so you could land on it, but was more about jump angle than distance.

The other option is to go as BLU with Selfdestruct and find someone to revive you over the tricky bits.

All that being said I'm going to join a lot in this thread and say I'm sad I will not be able to wear the shorts. They look shmancy and would be an awesome beachcombing/sunny glamour.

The impression I got from your OP was that you weren't even really mad about the shorts either. You went on about variety, and the lack of it with the glamours in FFXIV. You also mentioned that females always seem to get the best stuff when it comes to glamour items. That was a "wahh" moment.

What is ironic is that you are telling those taking the time out of their day to contribute to your thread that they are throwing tantrums, when the tantrum started way back from the very first post made by you.

The other thing I will mention is of course glamour items seem to always look better on female avatars. They're females. Meanwhile, roughly 80% of all the battle related gear in this game looks WAY better on males, and crush my max slider boobs until they touch my back. Now, why do you suppose that is? Items that are tailored to be more light, elegant, bright, and non-practical are just going to look better on female avatars. Always. Items that are more utilitarian, practical, heavy, and protective are going to look better on males. The reason for this is called "gender norms". And as much as present day society has tried to push that these are social constructs, they couldn't be more wrong. These fundamental truths are ingrained into us as a species. Trying to bend something in a way not intended will always resist. That is the natural order.

tl;dr. You want the Thavnairian dress to look good on you? Switch to a female avatar.

Dayum we need to go back to no outfits for events that'll stop the complaints. Oh wait.....

A shame we can't choose between the trunks and the bikini bottom. I know a number of guys who would wear the bikini bottoms to show off. And those swimming trunks are a pretty banging design, I could see several glams that would work with it for the ladies.

The more I look at the men's outfit the more I like it. Those pants and head piece are gonna look so good with things but I do support more sexy glams for all genders.

The outfit is not forcing you to pay for the game.

It's a free addition that they 100% did not have to give and could have just dumped it in the mogstation.
