So did I. Didn't see any mention of class/job adjustments for this patch.

You have to go back a month and a half, because the quote is from the letter at the end of March. It says in his road map there that there is a "high likelihood of a 1.22a release" and then he says at the end of that letter that there's "a chance that job-specific weapons might have to be delayed to 1.22a or later... I'll be sure to keep you in the know on the coming progress." Fast forward an entire month and a half, two patches, and another letter from the producer, and through all of that not a mention is ever made of a decision for job-exclusive weapons to be delayed past 1.22a.
I believe that this concerned the progress of Hamlet Defense only since it was delayed from Ver 1.21 where it was initially planned for. I looked through the Community Rep posts and found no mention of a delay. Yoshida clearly stated that we would be able to see the Imperial Stronghold being built but could not enter. I can only imagine that the news concerning AF weapons fell through the cracks due to Yoshida's busy travel schedule prior to E2. Happens.
It's already been posted earlier in the thread

PLD DRG and WAR stuff are 1.22b. Weapons and castrum just didnt make the cut
on a side note, I wonder what the key item "on the properties of beastmen" is for?
Lame..where is the weapons?...
No job adjustments either...
Okay then. :/
Ya I forgot to mention for those who prolly haven't had a chance to supply a Hamlet, the way it works is when you turn in 10 pieces of a gathered material you obtain 1k points, +1 10=10k points, 1 militia crafted item is 1k points and a +1 of a crafted is 10k points. But ya XD it's not that unbelievable of a number but still obtaining 25 stacks of a specific item isn't easy lol. Basically to reach 250k which I made up as the average minimum that may be needed to hit Top 20 you would need either 25 stacks of NQ materials, 2 and a half stacks of HQ materials, 250 NQ synths or 25 HQ synths.
For a better perspective on time needed to obtain 250k, let's say it takes about half an hour to cut 6 trees, so you can cut 12 trees an hour, half the time you can obtain spruce branches, so let's say you obtain an average of 5 a cut with a potential of 10 +1.
So every hour you obtain about
240 branches or 2 stacks and 42 left over. Now to obtain 25 stacks you'd have to spend about 10hrs gathering but of course that can be reduced by obtaining +1 of said material. But still to obtain 25 stacks and spend 10hrs gathering just to make use of it in a 25hr period just so you can hit the top 20 and make use of it for 25hrs is quite a heavy cost XD.
On the crafting side with recent changes you can synth maybe 50 items using hast hands every half hour, maybe more so for crafting they could reach the 250k point in about 2hrs and 30 minutes of non-stop hasty hand synthing. However a majority of crafters will most likely take the HQ route in an attempt to reduce the amount they need since the point value is worth 10x more.
In that essence a synth could take 1-3 mins depending on how things go and including downtime in between. So with a minute per synth that 60 synths an hour which is all ended up being HQ could take 4hrs and change. At the max 3 mins a synth you're only getting 20 synth done an hour in that sense it would take you 12hrs if it all turned out to be HQ. Of course you can speed up the point process by purchasing HQ materials but when point values are reduced to 0 people aren't as willing to spend the cash if something were to come up and they couldn't take advantage of having Top 20 during that Hamlet phase.

But ya the way Hamlet is designed atm pretty much gives it a death sentence, it'll work while people want to get stuff, but once the loot dries up people will ignore the event. Unlike Ifrit/Garuda/Moogle which can be done at any time, Hamlet can only be done if proper preparations are made, well done in the sense that if you want the best chances at obtaining loot you should supply said hamlet XD.
I just hope they can make the changes quickly since the way Hamlet stands now it's gonna die out quickly XD.
Ohh ok. 25 stacks is a lot for sure but a LS could combine the efforts of a few people to get one person top 20 but still, thats a lot of work. I think it took me 1.5 hr to get 1 stack which have been sitting in my inventory. From everything I hear hamlets aren't worth doing so to me, this patch is a big yawn. Had so much hope for hamlet defense but doesn't even seem like its worth doing except to get your anima back.
Good thing you cleared that up. So people can realize that it is just as hard to get level 2 until they change it after they get feedback!
i.e. No changes to Hamlet besides the bug fixes and adding more places to do Hamlet. No increase in drop rate or rate of ranking up.
Hi All,
While I was looking forward to AF Weapons as well, I think it just gives more time for people to "appreciate" (or just collect) the new set of Garuda Weapons which are still very new to the game.
I would've liked to see some key adjustments to Hamlet Defense, but realize with Golden Week there probably isn't enough turnaround time yet.
This bug fix though is quite sad to hear (and probably the reason why my friend (and other Top 20 Provisioners received nothing for beating Hamlet). OUCH.
It still doesn't solve the key issues with Hamlet Defense, but it's a start for those that are Top 20 at least (so sad they had to waste their time the previous 3 rounds).Quote:

Put this in the meme thread, but thought I would express myself in this one also.

Poo poo patch! I'm glad they put the hamlet defense (only for the anima supply turn-ins, could care less about the boring battle) in LL and Than though. I was sick of running through the cesspool Black Shroud.
Yay, I'm good, I didn't expect nothing and nothing is what we got, woohoo! I'm good =)
Edit: At least there are fixes and such and we are taking another small step forward with this patch. I'm just desperately waiting for content to sink my teeth into.
And all I wanted was a pre-nerf'd War for the Imperial Stronghold.
Guess it was never meant to be.
Seals are from Hamlets
I'm seeing a lot of hatred for the inclusion of class specific gear, especially since the community has done nothing but whine whenever someone brings up the suggestion of abolishing classes so Square Enix can focus on balancing Jobs better. So you want classes to remain, despite the fact they aren't Final Fantasy enough for you (leading to the creation of the Job system) nor do you want them to have armor tailored for them like Jobs have JSE. It seems like complaining just for the sake of complaining.
Someone didn't read the last letter closely enough.
So they did mention that job-exclusive weapons would be delayed past 1.22. They just didn't tell us that they were delayed past 1.22a.Quote:
In order to deliver the patch to you in time for Golden Week, I’m afraid we’ve had to postpone a number of things. These include job-exclusive weapons, chat log reforms, and other content I touched on last time.
I think SE just needs to explain their thoughts behind classes at this point. Even in light parties jobs tend to be better than classes. Heck, even some jobs solo as well as their classes.
I think people are just confused about the role of classes in this game and why they need things like specific gear.
Argh! Cant find Hardened Sap. We gonna have to wait 17 hours to see if Hamlet NPCs are selling?
Hmmm... anyone tried Garuda after patch yet?
And does the Live Seventh Umbral event still going on?
suprana is now supARna and the action bar is a few steps backwards. h'mmm... can't skip any phases anymore meaning we have to deal with instant-cast mistral shriek which is always fun.
Yes- Suparna is in fact the correct spelling! Chirada and Suparna are both alternate names for Garuda.
That's it. WorstQuote:

Oh and no job weapons.
patchgame. Unsubscribing. Uninstalling. Wiping Hard drive. Throwing my computer out the window. Setting fire to the remains. Burring the ash. Building an apartment complex over the ashes. Demolishing apartment complex with dynamite. Flooding crater. Separate greater lake area from earth. Launch it into the sun. 1000 years of darkness.
Geez people.. they werent in their offices for a week, for holidays, they return..push the mini patch out a couple days later and you act like it should be another grand patch. Let's not get too carried with way irrational ideals, shall we? Bunch of spoiled children is what this looks like.
