I enjoyed Campaign, quite frankly, which certainly took more skill and coordination than any guildleves ever will.
Are you serious? Campaign gear was at the very least on par with everything that was both craftable and high-end for most jobs.

No it wasn't. Did you not do endgame? Salvage, sky, einherjar, kings? For example monk, sam, nin, didn't beat stuff like usu set. War had their adaman hauberk, byakkyo, haidate, certain ares set pieces. There was nothing from campaign that was even close to an upgrade to already released current end game items.
Talk about a failure to understand what is being said; I specifically stated: "...BOTH CRAFTABLE AND HIGH-END."

...for MOST jobs, too.
AKA, craftable as an AH-able for the simple-minded freaks out there.

While I agree that a large portion was not amazing lots of it was situationally amazing. The conserve mp mage sets and store tp light DD set with lots of acc fit in many places. DNC got lots of love from that store tp set and healer sch/whm loved that conserve mp set
Besides who is to say we'll even have good rewards on here? or wont
Whoa, why'd this get moved...?
The truth hurts.. I know.
Yeah, I was kind of excited for this. I thought "Finally, my kind of content!"
But it turns out I was wrong.
I didn't expect it to be so few people allowed to join. I was picturing a mini "Besieged" like thing from XI where a good number of people could join as they wish (20-30ish max maybe). Not 8-person party content again.
Not complaining, it's just "Oh well, it's not for me" content again.
I thought it was something we could just head over there and join, but it sounds like we'll need a group. Once the excitement of it dies down I doubt there will be many people waiting there to sign up.
Again, "Oh well~" Another something I probably won't do.
Edit: I totally understand if this is something they can't do before 2.0. I do hope in 2.0 we get some interesting open-world content though.
I completely agree and this is only the 2nd time I see eye to eye with Rokien. I am very disappointed in how this will be implimented. Seriously if I look at all the instances they have add, it makes me wonder if this will be the norm for 2.0. I can understand somethings being 4,8,16 or 32 man groups. That said players need stuff that you can do w/o a small group or full party or instanced. Hamlet defense should not have a group requirement, there is no excuse the Devs or the players can use orr say to justifiy what they have done with hamlets.
Can't forget about all the gear you could buy using notes for lower leveled jobs that were at least decent enough to level in. Not talking endgame stuff, but you know...even at wotg people were still actively exping and leveling jobs<_<
And I was hoping for a more campaign like experience as well. How many events do you get to go on your favorite job and just screw around for hours on end? That is what made campaign and besieged so fun, the fact that there was no structure you just fought to protect or attack something. On my server, a lot of people still participated in it, I know my ls did it, nothing like tearing through campaign with a party full of empy's. Or watching 20+people gang up on a huge boss while lower level mages would support from the outskirts. I loved these events simply because it was simple, just fight and have fun lol
Hmm, I bought this game thinking it would be close to XI. I thought it would have kind of a different flavor and better graphics, after all it did take all the same races from XI, same combat system, same targeting system and claim system.
The camp/claim system is a staple of XI, there was a good balance in XI with BCNM, and pop items to also obtain gear.
You could get the some of the same gear that a NM dropped from a bcnm. but i frown to hear that 80% of players dont like the claim nm system. Is XIV mostly casual players?
Why was this thread moved? Hit too close to home?
At the rate Rokien remakes this thread five times a day, I doubt bumping it is necessary.
Well, I don't know. Living up to what XI was is pretty easy, just consult the same storywriters and you pretty much got everything worthwhile out of XI. At least, as far as someone who never played it can say after hearing commentary on it.
So I don't care about this thread. However, I have a few questions since I am on a work trip and haven't played new content. So, is it 8 person requirement to enter? Do you need a balanced party (Tank, Healer, DPS) to succeed? Do you have to be level 45 or higher to enter? Lastly, do you get anything other than experience?
Yep 8 people, soo soon you will have to shout in uldah... AGAIN. You also need DOL/H. Yep level 45+. You get anima and some weapons, really silly though. The silly part is anima and random drops, like wtf get a point system in.
Well, hamlet was a fail in my opinion.
