Can we as paying customers agree the lack of Housing is simply unacceptable to SE?

Sadly, true. It been three years since the release of housing and tomorrow, yet again, we are going to see an all out war in people trying to get plots. Plus we are going to see them lovely people who are buying them up just to resell for 10x more. Yeah, no I'm with Gbe on this. By now it should be a priority to fix the housing issue one way or another. There are endlessly amounts of threads of people who want housing, they want to get a plot in the new area, but their chances are about as good as any the rest of us. And really when you break it down, it only going to be the people with good computers, good internet connection, and their path mapped out to the plot they want that will get a house. Is that really fair? I don't think so. And this is coming from someone who has a well built computer, SSD, and fiber internet. Of course my odds are just as good as any if the server crashes while trying to login.

Point is - this is not how content, any content, should be for a paying player base. We all pay that monthly sub. We feed SE our money through that and mog station. There should be no excuse anymore.

at the very least they should curb loop holes in the system, they can do fixes and quality of life changes to be fair for more people... until they find a permanent solution.

1) 1 house per server cluster (personal or FC, if you are a leader a FC should come first, plus you can customize most of it as your own house anyway)
2) the ability to sell an unwanted house to any buyer that can pay you via an in game method system so there is no stealing or cheats.
(for what you initially payed for plot price)
3) for those that hoard houses give them a limited time to offload excess

i would like to play a game where the creators take a hard stance of principle against any and all abusive or cheating like ways..

cut out PvP win trading, cut out house flipping for obscene amounts of gil, cut out bot farming/gathering.

do it all legit

My sub time runs out on Thursday so I'm letting it lapse until this is fixed if I don't manage to score a plot. I've waited 3 years for SE to do something, say something or even just acknowledge there is an issue but the community is rewarded with silence and contempt. I'm just fed up as a customer that is expected to purchase a product monthly while not having a glaring issue resolved after so long a time. All the while getting useless items added to an optional cash shop that should not be taking away from their time to resolve a long standing in-game issue. If they showed a 1/10th of the effort into fixing housing like they do in marketing to make sure I know there is a 30% discount on the cash shop then this thread would not have existed.

I just don't understand why they can't add more wards? Have they ever said anything on this?

If you can make up any excuse at all, SE will use it to justify that Housing is not their fault and that it is something they can't solve. The technology doesn't exist for them to do anything more than give us emotes no one asked for and Cash Shop items...those clearly they can do.

I had to restart my entire computer because the log-in button borked, and I'm not 3k+ in queue. I won't be getting a house this time around in spite of being ready the SECOND the servers went up. This is an unacceptable amount of stress for something that could be solved with instanced housing.

This could be solved by spending more money into servers. They're a billion dollar company yet they fail to have proper working servers.

Just like I posted on the other thread, I will mention it here: They don’t care!!

The whole thing excludes a ridiculous amount of us and apartments are a sad attempt at fixing it.

They already have your money and won’t try another system other than the one they have now.

Face it, the odds of most of you NEVER getting a house are ridiculously high and nothing SE can do at this stage can fix it.

There's honestly zero justification for how S-E runs housing. The fact that FCs are competing with single players for the same plots, the fact that 2 people and an army of alts can buy up an entire ward on a server, the fact that a subreddit exists purely for hawking overpriced flipped houses in game.. that's insane & it's 100% on S-E to fix. They're the only ones who can.

Please, S-E, add enough wards to guarantee everyone a house who wants one. Create a waiting list system for buying old plots so that people can't scalp them on the down-low. Fix your login system so that people who got up at 2 am don't get a login crash & then get to watch as the queue goes from 3k+ and all housing is snatched up before they can even log in to the game. lol.

I 100% agree with this thread. I admit that I was very much looking forward to the chance of my FC finally after all of these years getting a FC house. Even a decent medium house and I told myself I would accept that. But yet still my FC is without a house. Some of my FC have been playing from 2.0's beta if not before then. I doubt I'll be a paying customer for much longer after this let down. Not that I expected to really get a house in this madness but I was holding out hopes and had my FC's hopes high that we would finally have one and could start airships and all of the garden plots for the chocobo items.

As much as I love and want to support the game I don't feel the need to continue my support when the main feature I enjoy and have been looking forward to is locked to myself and my Fc. My husband quit bothering to play the game some time ago after number crunching the amount of houses (not taking into account of size or anything) compared to the what.. 10 million subs the game has? Not to mention people with alts. Maybe when the team behind this game decides to care about their user base actually getting to use all of their content they love to add new things and features to.. maybe I'll bother to show my support again.

Years playing and still no house. I agree that its unacceptable. Thinking of just quitting the game - feels like a waste of time if they wont fix this one thing that to me is pretty huge. Its all ive wanted in game for years. no large houses ever for sale.

so it looks like that goat sacrifice last night was for nothing... ready to log in right when they went live, button didn't work at first, then caught in a 1,500 person que. all gone by the time i got in.

Well looks like I'm going back to Black Desert again. They charge me 48 dollars for a costume but at least I have a house there. See you guys in 5.1.0 when they screw up the next housing ward.

Doesnt help that SE are shit for brain and can't adapt knowing it'd be a rush.. noo let's keep our muddy server and just not do any type of work to ensure it's a smooth day instead of error 1016 after being in the couple first to login and get kicked out the second you login because every house in shirogane are already bought like for fucking real..
not even 2mn and people still managed to get in.
There should be a roll back to allow people some chance by rotating the opening of shirogane so it's not a clusterfuck with everyone trying to long on their server, gang banging the data center..

Really, the fact that people can defend this housing system absolutely astonishes me. It has nothing to do with dedication. At the end of the day, it all boils down to luck. I was ready and waiting at 5:00am CST on the dot--and I was hit with 2 lobby server errors just trying to get to the data center, and a 1,600 queue. I had all the dedication in the world, but dedication doesn't save you from poor server infrastructure. Dedication doesn't save you from a 1,600 player queue that you wouldn't have had if the game had not crashed, and the launcher not froze up. And this was not an isolated event either, nor was it related to poor internet.

I completely agree. The excuse that Yoshi~san gave several years ago that not everyone is entitled to housing is bologna. And, oh, server space being problematic. There is no valid reason that housing should continue to be handled in this fashion - at all. It's a poor excuse. In addition, Yoshi~san believes housing is just not priority to his team nor to us, the players - which is obviously not the case where the players are concerned. Housing *is* important to us. We enjoy it. 720 new plots was not enough. Even with players that moved from one city state to another, their plots were eaten up within a matter of minutes and yet many, many of us are *still* without a house we can afford. This is not okay. A lot of us have been very patient about this but Yoshi~san and team: You gotta get with the times on how Housing should be handled. Either dedicate a server specifically for housing so many more can own a plot or instance the area. EverQuest 1, Everquest 2, and other games have gotten this right. How about you guys get it right, for crying out loud. A friend of mine has cancelled their subscription because of this - they, too, have been more than patient about obtaining a house only to get screwed because you guys (Yoshi~san and team) cannot do this correctly and fairly.

First of all FC shouldnt have to compete with players for the housing or should have priority at least.
Second, the fact that when someone select the housing plate can "lock" the status and non one can purchase is blsht. Yeah lets just take 20 friends that keep the plots occupied until you arrive.
Third, everyone should have equal chances of getting the house. The login issue and all this randomness is a nightmare.
Fourth, players must have a limit of ONE house to purchase, not 2-3-25

Nothing to add that hasn't been offered by an earlier post. Just letting SE know there's one more person who's tired of this long-term utter failure to deliver housing to paying customers. Professional shame.

enix grow a pair and stop people with RMT money. on gilgamesh i see so many small no name FC's ive never heard of before scooping up all these houses. where did they get all the money from? legit? doubt it

I have taken a day off work for each of the last three housing expansions and still am unable to acquire a FC house anywhere without resorting to paying the ransom to those selling. I'm so fed up with the disappointment.

Sorry fam, not buying it. Any data center worth its salt is going to be doing all of this on virtual machines. Adding a VM is incredibly easy, and in fact, cheaper than buying more servers. If their physical chassis have enough cpu/storage/ram to allocate out, it's literally a configuration change to increase/decrease resources, and I'm 95% positive they're using VMWare.

BLUF: Not only is it an incredibly easy fix, it's incredibly cheap by data center standards.

The way they made the system makes the problem unsolvable. They would need to change the entire housing system just to get a shot at trying to fix it.

Absolutely. As a player who's not very interested in raids and enjoys crafting/lore/everything else more, housing would've been a lot of fun to play around with. A room in an FC house just doesn't cut it.

People on Ragnarok are selling their Shirogane plots for 500 MIL for a small plot, others trolling chat because they and their alts somehow all got medium plots, others offering large sums of real money for in-game houses (saw offers of 100 EUR in shout chat). Meanwhile, SE flaunts doubling the amount of items you can put into existing houses instead of tackling the real problem with housing, which is availability.

Amen to this. I'm more into the story/crafting/housing on MMOs, so I have literally no interest in grinding raids and whatnot. I was waiting months for this to be released. Awful.

And why did SE skip over Ishgardian housing?

There no excuse for this any more get your head out of your hole. Before you start losing a ton of subs if you haven't already.

Really disappointed in the launch of this patch. Been waiting years to buy a house, but still can’t beat the rush. SE pls fix. This a game breaker for me.

Serious now, this kind of thing happens too much in this game, lets fix/add silly/useless things and ignore major problems.

Just give us instanced housing, supply=demand, its pretty simple....

When I saw this patch coming out, I was very excited! I haven't been playing long, only four months. Last month, in a turn of unexpected luck, my FC managed to snag a small plot in the goblet for it. This patch was (what I thought) a real chance to possibly getting a home for three of my friends and I. We had the gil a month in, and aside from that one pebble of luck, I have never ever seen a free plot. I didn't realized how incredibly lucky we were.

I've been on this game for 4 months. FOUR. I cannot even imagine how painful this update was for the more seasoned players who have a job, who aren't like me and who can't be awake during the first few minutes of a patch release and don't have this option to even try!

It's completely idiotic that we have MMOs who are over TEN YEARS OLD who have instanced housing and somehow Square cannot seem to find a solution to fit all players needs. Instanced housing is probably the easiest way to tackle the problem for everyone.
