More then 1 boost to 60 plz

I'd rather keep it 1 boost potion per character but for people who use alts on the same account I'd like to be able to use them on multiple characters. There's not a ton of reasons to have alts but the few that do exist can be important depending on who you ask.

Having leveled pretty much every caster to 60 as is (almost there on my RDM, did the others before SB), I would not mind being able to buy a couple for an alt I've made. While I enjoy leveling WHM and BLM, its AST and SCH/SMN I abhor with every fiber of my being before level 60. Sure would be nice to be able to get both of those on my alt.

It really doesn't matter, regardless of a the bleating here on the forums, you will probably be able to buy more than one jump potion per account after 4.1. I still remember before they brought out the first jump potion how there were pages and pages of people who all promised to quit if this was implemented and 'surprise surprise' they are all still here. SE charges £18 per potion that's 2 months worth of subscriptions for a service which probably cost them pennies to implement, I'm waiting to see if the ever implement the system for disciples of land/hand, levelling my mining is proving to be very monotonous and I only really want to use it to make gil.

This would be the worst idea if implemented, this directly affects the market for crafters and gatherers. Its bad enough now with the way people destroy the market because they are too impatient to know how to sell things properly.

The 'worst' idea might be a bit of an exaggeration and I don't see how more competition would be bad for the economy. But we will see, I'm not sure SE would bother to implement it to be honest, levelling hand/land might be monotonous but it's a lot quicker than levelling war/ magic classes.

I don't mind us having more potion boosts, I used mine for AST and got the hang of it after 3 easy dungeon runs, I would def buy another one for SMN or BMG.

The purpose of jump potion is to new players catch with their veteran friends in SB, so they can play new content together.

Not for powerleveling every single job to 60

I'd rather they not implement more than one, but recognize that realistically they will because it means more revenue immediately.

It would be nice though if those that are saying "I don't have time to level" would be honest. It's not that you don't have time to level. If you didn't have time to level you wouldn't have the time to go from 60-70. What you really don't have is the willingness to put lvl 70 stuff on hold while you level 1-70.

If the 1-70 leveling process had more going for it than running potd, pvp, or dungeons until your eyes bleed might diminish demand for boosting items somewhat.

There is no DoL endgame where you need a skip potion as a shortcut. What you do at endlevel is the same what you do during leveling it.

The best way to level up Fisher is during PF queue time as a DPS.

There's nothing wrong with jump potions. Leveling from 1-70 hardly guarantees a player will know how to play that class anyway.

Now, if they start selling tomestones for real money, THEN we have a problem.

They would've done something else because monotonous grinding has always been easy, just exceedingly BORING.

I'll never understand why people wear how much tedium they've endured as a badge of honor. I've done some grindy content in the past as well but I'm smart enough to not BRAG about it...

Why play the game you pay for when you can pay more to have the game play itself for you?

You missed a step. The subjob step. You hit the dunes more than once! For just one job/class... whatever it was. I got so sick of the dunes... I was annoyed when I needed a group! If it took longer than 30 mins to assemble a group I was not doing it that day. That grind was terrible! And slow... so darn slow. I went to WoW because it was a lot faster and I could in theory get to max level by myself.

I like the job booster. Though I won't be using one in this game... because I capped all available classes at 60 by the time Stormblood hit. Now if I get around to an alt that might be different.

Take your time leveling and more importantly LEARNING your classes. I hated when wow did this. Hundreds of fresh leveled char. Who never even bothered to learn the classes.

It affects my play time when you wipe our dungeon with your paid leveled character.

There are still an enormous amount of people who have leveled or are leveling normally that have never bothered to learn their class/job. It affects your play time when you wipe because those players joined your dungeon too.

As I said above, plenty of players who leveled manually still arrive at 70 with zero clue how to play their class.

This game actually has some pretty great tutorials so I'm sure it doesn't just dump you at 60 with zero guidance after that...

Well if talking about XI, there was more to it then just "grinding" during that process you actually connected with people and made friends that transcended the game. Also what does "I'm smart enough to not BRAG about it" mean ok, but some people enjoy that type of gameplay/content. "Bragging" usually means that person enjoyed what they did otherwise they would not be talking about it.

Brosef... The Jump Potion is cash cow milking item and SE isn't gonna switch it to a one time purchase for all jobs.... Such a lazy way to earn your level you can Get from 1 - 60 in a matter of at least 2 days. It's like "reading the live letters is hard... playing the game is hard... Nerf everything for sale of ease of use." Then turn around and want harder content... Ain't gonna happen. Go out Level the correct way and learn how to enjoy the job from 1 to 70 so you can be best at it. Throwing money at it is never the easy way out in playing a job.

I'm glad they limited booster 1 per account but seriously PLEASE DO NOT BOOST Tank (Learn to play from scratch 1-70) not that hard :)

This ship already sailed when POTD became the defacto way to level a class. Eorzea was packed to the gills with bad Drk's who didn't use darkside/dark arts, WHM's that just spammed cure1/2 and ice mages. People who are interested in being good are going to be good. People who just like mashing buttons and being retarded aren't going to change either.

I boosted PLD but I already had a DRK.

Speaking as someone who routinely encounters iffy players in Duty Finder, I think even one Jump Potion is too many, and I think more would be far, far worse.

I realize that some players don't have time to level their jobs from 1 - 70 the normal way. What that often means, however, is that you also don't have time to learn how to play the jobs properly, or keep them well-geared; this is especially true for healers and tanks. Despite the common wisdom that FFXIV is relatively easy to learn, it's not a completely trivial task. Learning rotations and truly internalizing them to the point where they become automatic takes time. New ability keybinds take time to truly sink into muscle memory. Upgrading gear to even new Tomestone sets takes time. All of this especially holds true for players who don't live and breathe FFXIV - that is, those who don't have time to level jobs the normal way.

It is for these reasons that I fear increased Jump Potion availability will simply worsen the quality of players in the Duty Finder. We'll see more and more players who have maybe 10 hours a week to play, but want to manage 3-4 different jobs nonetheless - and their lack of gear and skill will be very noticeable. There are also the usual litany of principle-based reasons to oppose Jump Potions (or any similar pseudo-pay-to-win items), but strictly from a community standpoint, there are concrete reasons to oppose increased availability.

People who will be bad....will be bad. People who care about learning their class with in fact do as such. This is a fact that will always be true.

However, this above fact should not make multiple jump potions okay. With about 100 million exp between a job and max level (give or take a few million and less for HW jobs), that is a nice little deterrent that will keep current content from being completely overflooded with people who do not know their jobs (as if it isn't already with current duty finder horror stories). A bad who wants to grab DRK because greatswords and edgy knight probably wont if they have to go from 30 to 70 the hard way. Or someone who wants to go WHM without all the 100mil xp grind. Opening up the gates to the jump potions allows the people who don't want to get good at jobs to be bad in more current content by just throwing money at the game.

At least currently there is a deterrent for bads to stem the flow of them. And as for the people who would learn their job, it is better to learn your job by going through the levels the correct way by leveling the job rather than boosting the job and figuring it out later. Leveling from early levels has become so easy with xp boosts everywhere and so many ways to level. It's not like it takes weeks to level up to 60 at the current state of game. Also, by getting to 60 by leveling, you get to see how your skills roughly work with each other and how the class plays rather than just boosting it, being thrown a bunch of skills, then jumping into dungeons or other content with absolutely no idea of how that job plays.

If you want to be bad, have fun with the xp grind to be bad at top level. If you want to be good, dont be lazy about it for the sake of laziness. you should learn to be good with your job in a way that would not cause problems for the other players you'll wind up grouping with in the game in content.

It needed to be said to shut down even the potential of people coming in here with the tired "Why, back in MY day, MMOs were hard!" BS that people love to gob on about.

Generally speaking, MMOs aren't actually "hard". Challenges in games that involve skill are those that some people may never surpass because they lack the mechanical skills to do so. However, if the only thing standing in the way of an objective is how much time a person is willing to throw at it, it's not challenging but grindy.

Leveling isn't challenging and barely teaches players their class, which is evidenced by the number that arrive at cap clueless of how to play.

Also, jump potions bring people to 60, not 70. If they don't learn the class in those 10 levels, they're not going to learn it in the previous 60, either.

And they'll be uncapping the number of jump potions you can buy in 4.1, at which point the salt on these forms should be pretty amazing...

I see your point, but they can learn the class. I think many of us are doing well with the insta 50'd rdm or sam's. It just depends on how well you can adapt. I would argue that after 40, there are only slight changes. If you have hit 50 with any class, you will do just as well at 60, end of story. Some may be returning players like myself. They may be just as bad at the 50 they earned as the 6o they bought. I don't see a real issue here. Good players will always be good players. Bad players will always be bad players. The levels are really irrelevant in almost every situation.

We will be able to do more than one in later updates. I jumped AST, at first I was a little confused but it took all but 5 minutes of playing around solo to understand everything. It is now 70 and for being my second job I leveled and play I am better than a lot of healers. The argument of it makes bad players makes me lol, its true purpose is to help those that; A. have real life priorities, B. help dps level faster instead of dead wait times, C. gets new players into the action sooner, D. allows players to play on other servers with alts. Honestly, SE should have done this sooner and should have included DoH and DoL because gil is pointless anyway.

POTD is not the only way to level up any class and its not the only content in the game.

before potd even came into the game there is ample content for players to learn when playing 1-60 such as dungeons, trials hard/extremes, raids.

While the fact that jump potions are now a thing and is both positive and negative, it's great they're only allowing 1 jump per account. Regardless of whether or not you have the time to play said class and level it is personal and will be nothing more then just that (not trying to be rude) it's just how SE will view it no matter what. The game is designed to ALMOST be badder proof. When it comes to leveling from the start you apply hours upon hours to learn the craft of that class. Enabling the option to skip all that and dive into late raid stuff has its pros and cons to it. Of which the cons outweigh the pros for obvious reasons. There's a ridiculous number of players jumping into these new Drex's/trials/raids and have no idea what to do or how to consistently dps let alone play their class correctly. NOT ALL, BUT MOST.

And there are cases like yourself having been through the entirety of all the MSQ and understand a lot about the game, but that's not why jump potions were made available in the first place. It was to allow new users to have the choice of jumping to the most recent stuff to play alongside friends. Not to allow people to abuse them by paying for shortcuts. Honestly it's a slap in the face for people who DO have the time. I see your plight and understand very well, by i do not sympathize simply because you aren't the vast majority category when it comes to enabling more jumps. they are terrible and know nothing. I've seen a few myself. Level 70 nin mobbing up things for a tank. He only had 17 PGL as a class.

Again, I just don't see it. There are no doubt many that are bad at the class, but honestly, the skills themselves give enough description to get by. How many terrible players are you guys running into?

potd or pvp i'd say are pretty fast for dps with bad queue times but this guy i was responding to he was talking like potd was all there was lol

tanks and healers using the potions are obvious and most of them will probably be bad till someone takes them under their wing to teach them the right way.

I'll throw in that the classes have changed enough from HW to SB that most of us are relearning as we go anyways. I've already got several classes that just "Clicked" with me last expansion that I've abandoned and have moved on from. Bard is a great example of something I'm just having to basically relearn after about half an expansion of being a rooted caster. The new DRK and SCH don't click with me at all the way they used to, mainly shockingly enough from the removal of complexity.

If you ran into a great tank or healer that had insta 60'd and was great at their job because they leveled to 50 would you know? No, you would dismiss them as any other player that had leveled normally.

I wouldn't say it's a slap to the face..that's a bit..much.

Had enough of complete noobs who can't play their jobs already. Especially people who are new to the game. With the way they are gating these things (almost not at all), I vote no.

Imagine upon dying in XIV theyd lose massive exp as well like in XI. Nothing like getting a lvl in XI equipping that new armor then 6 mobs in dying and hearing that wonderful de-lvl sound and being stripped of your new gear dead on the ground.
