I lost my motivation, Can you help me find it?

It begins to look like they cut off yoshi-p and his team...
They are sending him from event to event (E3, gamescom and so on) - does he even have a chance to play his own game?
It looks like some PR or financial managers took over and are telling the directions (same as it was back in 1.0 with the too early release).
Most of the content feels half assed and unfinished. Just look at grand companies... or pvp and gold saucer...
The core problem is you have to exclusively play content to progress, there is no progress in MGP when not playing gold saucer content, there is no progress in PVP when not playing pvp content... The source of the problem is to calculate the 'win' (lets take fenrir as example) for someone who plays YEARS only in gold saucer, thats just insane!

I'm just surprised for an expansion they didn't add all that much compared to 2.0. I can understand "wait for patches" but I bought this Expansion expecting some form of new feature in the game to show "Hey we made this expansion and here is this new feature added to the gameplay in end-game and more will come later" I enjoyed the story and new areas of the expansion all 10/10 but before i remember yoshi-p saying "the game starts at end-game(max level)" but after reaching max in this game I wish I could go back because right now there is nothing different from 2.0.

I paid for the expansion expecting something new at 60 which makes me want to stay longer but right now it just feels like 2.x where im doing roulette, PvP for a little then log off because im that bored. People who say wait till 3.1 why? I can bet my soul it will be what we predict:

3.1 - 24 man raid, 3 new dungeons, ex primal, QoL changes, story.

People understand an expansion isn't a new game but it should bring in something new and so far it didn't bring anything new. Why wait till a patch 3 months later for a new feature when they should have had it ready for the expansion so people don't have this view of the expansion of it being 2.x. Any time I mention this to other people/friends who have been playing since 2.0 they are all bored because there isn't anything new and interesting. Now I see why during live streams they never showed anything at end-game because there wasn't anything new to show. They always went over things I already knew and everything they showed was pretty much standard for a expansion (new areas, class and cap increase).

In the end, I will call this an expansion but that is just pushing it because they added flying and new areas, other than that as others have said its just a glorified patch which we paid for. I will throw some ideas right now which could have been new:

Primal Rush - Facing primals continuously after each other after each kill before you move onto another you could get a buff or a nerf to keep things interesting this can be done once a day and the order of primals is different each time gives a decent amount of tomestones. You can choose which mode you want (Hard or Extreme mode) If you do extreme it will yield a bit more tomestones so if people dont feel confident in doing all extremes in a row they can do hard mode.

Defend new found Allagan Technology from Garleans (couldnt think of a name for it) - We get teleported to one of 3 maps and we need to defend an area from garleans and at each time interval a boss can spawn and have some form of mechanics this can be done maybe once a week due to large amount of tomestone given (because you know allagan tomestone so may find quite a bit in that area) over patches (3.1/3.2 etc) they add a new map.

Small events - Small events which happen throughout the day which people can do doesn't reward that much tomestones but there is chances of rare materials for the crafters and even PvE players to sell on the market if they are luck enough to get it.

These were just things from the top of my head some may not be good ideas but i rushed most these i'm sure they could think of something they could have included at 60 which is a bit different from 2.0 in 3.0

(very few mmos bring a new system with expansion the only one that I can think that does is Eve, WoW never did and do not try fooling people it did.)

Edit: ok maybe more 50/50, I can name Guild wars, SWtOR, WoW to counter your three. And lvl 75 gear is not anything new it is just a different form of progression.

Everquest brought quite a few through its expansions.

FFXI had fresh new activities for every expansion, many with their own brand of lvl 75 gear.

Shin Megami Tensei Online added new activities and events while it was still running.

A lot of ftp games certainly follow a model without anything new added, but we aren't exactly playing for free, are we? Its a shame, because the token system was starting to get old even before heavensward, now its gating every content, several times over.

Is this really a valuable endgame experience? Because this would make a poor TV rerun.

It's not a reading level thing it's a failure to be informed of the topic. People jump to the last page of a thread and find something that they disagree with irregardless of the intent of the post, and they most certainly will not be bothered to back and read any other posts.

That's the problem with threads like these. People fail to realize that unless it's an issue in the JP community nothing will get done about it. It's still fun to rant and troll but the devs do not take threads like these seriously.

I unsubcribed. I'm sure I'll come back cause I already feel a little withdrawal but it's so easy to forget about this game. Then you should reword what you posted so that it doesn't imply that I myself have made or posted a similar post on their, and I don't need anyone agreeing with me in the sad state of affairs that motivation in this MMO is pretty much dead, its the same old formula that people are growing tired with, I couldn't care less what you or other people think about negative opinions, reality of the situation is people don't like to be told something that is so blatantly obvious when its practically staring them in the face. Level a new class. That's seriously the best advice I can give you, because you're right, this endgame leaves much to be desired.

If you are so bored with life you think leveling additional classes (via the same dungeon / fate spamming) is fun than you probably need to go outside or do something else.

Crafting, Gold Saucer, Housing, Glamour, PVP its all crap.

I mean they copied over 70% of the game from WoW why didnt they allow us to duel other players?

I log in to do a roulette to get eso, then log out. raid a couple days per week and its just boring.

They made everything too fast to get in this game.

To be honest they could have waited a month for alexander savage instead of 2 weeks.
they could have waited another week or 2 for normal alex.

but they made it so easy to get a job to i180 (like 2-3days if you grind) that its easy to blow through the content.

Maybe they should gate the content more going forward.. maybe they should have had a weekly law cap from the jump... waited a few more weeks for alex and alex savage..

There have been only 2-3 dungeons in Extreme Roulette since it's inception, in most cases 2 of those dungeons were reskinned dungeons we leveled through, with (Hard) at the end. Every 3 months like clockwork, these dungeons are shoved into High Level Roulette, why? Because 2-3 dungeons(with 2 of those 3, once again, being reskinned versions of dungeons we've leveled through countless times) have taken there place.

FACT

There has only ever been one hardcore raid at a time. It consists of 4 turns/floors. Mainly it's just a boss room, but occasionally trash in front:

Second Coil of Bahamut
Final Coil of Bahamut

Myself and others have been saying these things the entire time. We have been saying we do not want the game to change into something it's not, but this cycle that I've just posted cannot be denied. It shows clearly some of the reasons we want variety in how we obtain those tomestones, not just different dungeons with the same path in them. Not just one relevant raid(I don't even raid, by Altana!) at a time.

These are just a few of the facts we have brought forth.

Regarding OP, ARR was pretty barebones when it to first came out. The thing is about Heavensward is that while the initial expansion seems limited. It had a bountiful amount of content from the start. Of course people will blow through it at lightning speeds and end game was reached in mere weeks. But just like ARR, the content is coming.

Also the devs on this game has been one of the best listeners I have encountered on ANY game. Ever since Yoshi took over from Tanaka back in 1.x. The team does really well catering to everyone's needs. This may come off as me being a big fan or white knighting, but I have hope.

Now to get motivated to grind fates for my other classes. That's the real problem lol.

GS was created and is more of a homage to the older ffs then end game, plenty of people like going in every once in a while and they promised snow boarding already. Whether or not someone enjoys farming the same 2-3 dungeons for 3 months for different colored tomestones wasn't the point. If you actually enjoy progressing your character the exact same way, for 2 years, that's fine.

You stated there were no facts, I gave just a couple of them. Others have as well, that was the particular reason behind that post.

At least you are not one of the this game is going to fail people. Those people make me laugh when you have 3-5 people agreeing with you must mean that the game is terrible and is going to die.

Edit: out of posts, no you have a right to how you feel about something. And as a joke I have kinda been eating the same thing for two years (college for you). Also this schedule is devs work schedule to get this content out on the intervals. Not sure if it is good or bad, no one has a huge study on why mmos fail or flop. (if they did they would be raking in the cash)

Opinion is one thing, but saying "make it harder" or saying "make it slower" same as saying "make it easier" or "make it faster" is selfish!
You have to look global and it is better to start "easy" with giving players the option to have the same content harder than to block everyone who can not handle it...
The Problem we are having with FFXIV since beginning is that bosses are static programmed, just follow the pattern and checks to clear it...
While the player progress, the monsters stay the same! Normally it is ment for casuals to level up and going back beating harder content, same as with getting better gear to come back and finally beat the harder content. But not so in FFXIV, we are getting "better" gear AFTER beating the content, not only in coil or alexander, same in all other content... there is no "preparing for the fight" its just robotic run the best skill rotation with avoiding stuff and repeat it just like a machine...

Justin, that schedule.....has been pretty much unchanged. Great for work/school, horrible for an MMO that wants to keep as many players pay that sub fee month after month for as many months/years as possible.

Some people are justifiably tired of the same thing patch after patch.

No, I don't want this game to fail, I want this game to succeed for 10 years so I can waste my time in Eorzea, like I wasted my time in Vana'Diel for 10 years. However, as things currently stand, I don't see how the game can last beyond the next expansion. 4.0.

Personnally, that's why I've been posting; to at least in my own very small way, to try bring forth the issues I see so that adjustments can be made, before it is too late.

People are already quitting left and right (I mean unsubbing for good) and I am seeing so many threads about it on diff forum sites,etc. But no this game is PERFECT , best game ever, won awards before it came out..and can do no wrong. Lol.

What depth? Endgame was nonexistant. You were just challenging silly drops rates for weapons/gear that weren't even necessary. It was no different from this game.

Crafting serves its purpose. My only gripe is desynthesis, for too long the ilvl 90-120 gear tome and extreme gear could not be desynthed, they waited too long, now that you cant even buy i90-100 gear with the plentiful poetic tomes, leaves a steep difficulty curve between desynth levels 80-100.

My Blacksmith desynthesis was stuck at 95-ish for the longest time. After the expansion, I decided to get it raised even if I had to go full-on brute force to get it there. I used a Tinker's Calm and a Bacon Broth and sat in town buying mythrite daggers from the vendor and breaking them down (ok, mostly breaking them, but the few successes raised it by a LOT initially). I ended up spending around 3mil at the vendor, but it put me around 125, which is a good place to start on desynthing dungeon drops from the lower dungeons.

The social aspect is valid to me, but none of my friends or FC want to do PvP/gold saucer because of the reasons in my first post most likely, so we are back to square one sadly :(

In regards to thread, it looks like you've reached the end of the current contents. Unsubscribe and wait for 3.1 or something and move on with life.

FFXIV is a game like many others. Once you get bored with it, you go play some other game. Like Batman.

I prefer myself some Borderlands 2 once in a while myself. Grinding Zodiac weapons isn't very fun when it still takes a week for nexus light to complete. I don't see the point of getting BiS anymore since I don't play raids or EX.

Next Veteran Reward after those Cloud set IIRC.

Best thing about this game was the Main story.. and even that wasn't fully voiced which was abit disappointing :\

All raiding content is just grind, grind and then wait til next patch so they can make the grinding easier and you just /facepalm :D

The previous rank gear always has the rank removed, there's no point in gating level 50 110(130) gear in PVP when we have level 60 180(200) gear. Due to morale just boosting the ilvl once you hit 60 and jump into level 60 PVP even the HQ pve quest gear is better suited for PVP than the rank 45 gear.

People already at r45 were only 5 ranks(lotsofexp) away from r50 gear. So there's the reward for hitting r45 right there. The gear itself is just a whatever thing. After the change to morale the PVP gear was never really much of a reward.
