I don't hate the Elezen (though I really hate the ones in Ishgard/Coerthas). I just don't like them. Here's MY issues:

They're too tall and thin for my liking. Also as others have pointed out, their heads are small and look disproportionate from their body.

I also barely see any duskwights (males especially) in the game. If I hadn't played Lancer I didn't realize they existed.

I thought SE would have made elves in this game look "hotter". I mean hot elves literally sell games!

Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Miqote...they are just so overpopulated that they are borderline falling under generic for me. It is always nice to see a well designed elezen player because of how rare they are. Their design isn't my personal cup of tea, but at least they are unique.

I like how they look. But I didn't find a face and hair combination that made me go, 'Ah! This is the look I want. I want to play as this.'

I actually like the elezen - they're nowhere near as stuffy and uptight as their elvaan cousins in FFXI were. And at least this time around their limbs aren't nearly as ungainly as the elvaans' were. ;)

What I'd like to see is more elf-like hairstyles. The long hairstyles that I've seen were not something I found pretty or attractive. Pretty much the only hairstyle I liked was the one the female elezen in 1.0's video had.

And what I found very very strange was the fact that male elezens don't have bald hairstyle, but females do... what. the. crap.

Don't hate the elezen. The head wouldn't be so much of an issue if their necks were a little shorter, but that neck thing is common with our character models (except Lalafell, but not everyone can be perfect :O), it is just that it is MUCH more noticeable on elezen than hyur and miqote. The FFXI models have a similar issue as well.

How could anyone hate this :(?

Though I don't play one, I like Elezen. I've seen some absolutely gorgeous/handsome ones and gaudy neon disasters. Less is more when it comes to Elezen customization. I think my Elezen retainer is a cutie.

Males that use the babyface are creepy as hell though. It just doesn't fit the proportions. Nothing can make those look good.

EDIT: Well, I do have an alt but he doesn't get played much.

There are tons of lalafells around , more so when the fantasia potion was given. You just do not see us often because we are upskirting you like ninjas! ive seen plenty of elves also. they are there just take of your miquote seeing only glasses and you will see the other races.

I want to request the FFXIV DEV-team to plz plzzzzzzz buff up the Elezen walking/ jogging animation. I wasn't no "pansy" in FFXI and I definitely don't want to look like one here in XIV. Why you dissing on Elezen so hard with the lack of emotion in their step?

As tall as I am with a neck of a giraffe, at least it felt I had soul. When I move around here, it feels like all the other races have a soul but me. Feels that Elezen was given the shaft (literally) and it shows. On another subject, STOP CATERING TO CASUALS! That is all.

I know that if Elezen got a few better hairstyles and more balanced anatomy, I would be onboard. I mean, even the artists that draw the conceptual and promotion art already does it:

Notice how the bulky Scholar get-up is the only one coming close to 3D Elezen's shoulder-width (also, I. Want. That. Hair.)? Also, when you look at 3D Elezen art renders, you usually get side, 3/4 and other views that obscure the width of the shoulders, or in a pose with one of the few hair/face combos that look somewhat balanced. Though I noticed that a 3D 1.0 frontal render seemed to have a more balanced build.

But yeah, it's pretty bad when even the official and promotional artworks compensates for bad anatomy in-game. Which in turn might turn people off once they open up the character creation after having a look at this art and gone "I want my character to be like that!" (I know I did).

You've never seen a lalafell? They're all over the place. I don't think people hate elezen, they'd just prefer looking like slutty miqo'tes. ... like 90% of the miqo'te screenshots I see are upskirts, barely any clothes on, or questionable positions, lol.

I played an Elezen female during beta since I feel they have some of the prettiest face options, but the pinhead thing just drove me mad. It looked like she wouldn't be able to control her ginormous body with the tiny brain she had. :( I would probably play one again if their heads got bigger or their bodies weren't so broad.

Bodies need to be way more slender, I was a female elven originally but couldn't handle the jacked up body size.

There is one thing I have noticed in my server at least, Females elezen are quite a few, and even worse they seem to be more quiet and invisible than the rest.

Though gotta give it to the lalafells, most of the players that play them turn out to be quite alright (unlike those annoying hyur....)

Do I sense jealousy from this? I like being in the minority. I like to think I have some uniqueness.

I like them.

The body proportions feel off to me, it feels like their necks are too long and their faces too small to fit right. I don't really like the way their eyes look either. Feels like they don't give off an aura of wisdom, so much as they do 'I'm going to stab you'.

There have been lots of MMOs with beautiful Elf races. But ARR... well, they tried, and failed. Miserably.

I recently thought about making 1 as an alt, but than I considered the ramifications of having a new "elf" on my server would cause, such as disrupting the balance of the lands by having 5 on our server instead of 4, that would probably cause massive hysteria and the world would end..so I decided against it.

I think they're too tall.

Yeah, I'm not super thrilled with the haircut either. I used one of the long styles at first, but it clips on everything and looks stupid so I changed it. I'm hoping our turn to get new hairstyles is next (and that we get something that actually looks good).

Despite the problems with the long hair, only two of our hair styles look good and the other one is the default "Mother Miounne" hair. I used that in beta until I realized this. I hate the hair clip hair, and I really really hate how SE tried to play off three different hair clip colors as three different hair styles. Newsflash SE: WE CAN TELL WHEN YOU PHONE IT IN.
