Rage quitting
Leaving when you tell group you're new
Speed runs only
Need to be extremely over geared in order to get picked up for content
That's the mmo community these days pretty much. All about efficiency for most.

in every game it seems to be getting worse, even when your feeling is 'this game probably won't draw in these people'
I am still baffled they found their way into TSW, a game that was not 'well-known' and quite 'special'.
week in you had people 'demand' their runs filled with gear that dropped in the dungeons they were doing, so they could farm their silly marks for gear that wasn't even in the game at that point (for the raid that wasn't in-game)
ARR is the first game I see people freak out so severely when people don't perform to their standard. I'm already having nightmares how bad the community will be in upcommung games like wildstar or teso (especially when all the 'game sucks' folks are really looking forward to these two games)
There's unreasonable efficiency (like want full ilvl 90 gear to do WP) and efficiency just being smart. You can for example try to do crafting skills without doing the triple turn ins with HQ item. That'd take way longer to do it, or you can use the leves and finish in a fraction of the time compared to someone who did not. It's not your fault for knowing the quickest way to level up crafting. It has the side effect of greatly decreasing the amount of 'content' for crafting but that's not the player's problem, and they can legitmately complain that crafting takes too short to level. I'd prefer if crafting took longer too, but I'm not going to purposely gimp myself just to stretch it out longer, so the net conclusion is that crafting content is lacking (due to the existence of triple turn in leves).
lol. I can beat that. I did the very first guildhest as tank (after already having played whm for quite a while in ARR + playing it for years in FFXI) ... what happens? I write in chat that people should give me a minute for my skills to charge (I had just changed class. silly me). nope, the dps wouldn't have it. then the whm just spammed medica, which of course means I get zero mob aggro (mind you, the dps of course pulled both starter groups lol)
dying in the very first guildhest is extremely embarassing, so I politely (and i mean that, I'm usually quite polite in-game) told the whm (why the hell would you do that lvl 10 hest as a WHITE MAGE anyway and not as a conjurer? lol) to please use cure and not medica. what happens? of course I get yelled at for being a crap tank and that I need to use flash.
eh. how exactly am I supposed to use flash as a lvl 10 marauder again? O.o
Could do what some players are and make an alt to do coil 2 times a week
You haven't even made it to level 2 on most of the jobs in the game... really played around with the game huh?
I have far more time than most people do and I have been playing MMOs for over a decade now so I have been around awhile... somehow I still find stuff to do. In fact I am usually not sure what I want to do because there is so much.
Wait, the game's been out for over a month and we're now complaining about lack of content?
A single player RPG wouldn't take me a month, some not even a week. This game must be absolutely great.
They'll turn around and say 'Oh, well that was only the beginning, and now I only log in for like 5 hours a week! Useless! - to which I'll say something like 'The last time I played FFVII was 3 years ago. FFX 2 years, FFXII 2 years (though I'm getting the itch to pick it back up via the translation packet and my copy of Zodiac Project), and FFXIII last year. On average, - MMO 5 hours a week, SPRPG 5 hours a year.
SoOoo.... aside from complaining about whats 'in' the game yet..... what suggestions have been made as to what could make it better?
I got heaps of stuff to do also, the thing is, its pretty average stuff .
I mean, i could fate grind another class, but id rather put a fork in myy eye first, fate grinding is the worst ever content i have seen, complete casual ,mindnumbing worthless button mashing ever designed.
I could level another crafting class to 50, but this is how i did my armourer... Buy mythril and cobalt bars cheap, hand in the leve ( nets extra gil and xp ) . thats fail mmo crafting.
I could run the same 2 dungeons over and over again, but im bored crapless of running them already.
Conclussion, there really isnt much to do in ffiv.
Why didnt they make it so all dungeons could be run at 50 ( i know its coming , but maybe a little to late ) , and why didnt these dungeons all have a certain loot tablE ( Like wows dungeons used to be back in the day )
Everything is just done with the casuals mindset in this game, EVERYBODY wins, everyone has everything, everyone looks the same.
Its just ....boring....A good game, but compared to other mmo's and especially the new mmo's coming out, its average at best...
The suggestion is :"Shut up and play or wait". This is not something where suggestions can help. Content will be naturally added every major patch, and that's every 2/3 months.
If anything, people who cannibalize the content in a week will never be happy and you'll see these topics forever, no matter how much new content they'll pour in.
Also, these topics are a kind of flamebait
It's called beein bad. But if you like to feel that you re above really, up to you.Quote:
I'll look up the youtube video. It's called being resourceful.
@Op : I kinda get what you re sayin because yeah coils can be done in not even 1 hour + yeah 3 - 4 hours max of tomes grind for one toon. 2 - 3 weeks to go buddy. Even if CT will be less challenging its still something to do in the week on top of new primal in hardmode (probably extreme ? dunno if King mog gonna get the treatment) , the 3 others in extreme, treasure hunting in hardmode, FC housing and your full PvP armor to get.
You ll have things to do ;)
i apologize if this has been said in the thread already, but there is a difference between no content and having content you actually want to do.
there is stuff to do, but the real question is: do you want to do it?
a lot of it requires doing the same thing over and over again, but i would classify that as "time filling activities."
on a sidenote, i'm just curious of what people like the OP are expecting. i feel like most of the content people want from an MMO are coming in 2.1. if it's not to your liking, there are plenty of other games out there that may be and have been out for longer.
Let's see how I'd do things different:
I'd grind another class - by running dungeons. You don't have to FATE grind. I'll do the occasional FATE grind, but I'll also do dungeons. In the worst case, I can take the time to go and farm aldgoats at lower levels.
I'd level crafting classes - by, y'know, actually crafting SOMETHING. I'd, y'know, mine/harvest my own materials, and craft out of them instead.
I could run the same 2 dungeons, or also run some HM primals. I could also go back and revisit some older dungeons like Stone Vigil or Dzemael Darkhold. Because, y'know, this game is made up of 2 dungeons.
Conclusion: there is a lot to do in this game, you intentionally chose the path of least resistance and then now you complain because you didn't play the game at all. Your complaints hold no water. Try doing actual content for once, instead of skipping your way through them. The irony of it all - you skipped content, and are complaining of lack of content.
@ Star
Don't quote me. >_>; I don't wanna deal with your defense about how there are other ways of leveling.
No one has time to wait 6 years for a Que esp. lower levels since those dungeons are collecting dust and are dead.
Leves = Craft and Battle EXP stuff are low. Hunting Log is good though I'll admit.[/QUOTE]
i believe i've herad rumors where dungeon xp is goign to go way up. And so are leves as to not make it pure fate grinding. Yes crafting might be boring but he's just saying there's a lot more stuff to do if u don't limit yourself to just 1 class. But I also wonder if that one class has beaten turn 4 and is full i90. And new content = new dungeons and what not so im excited.
OP clearly isn't aware of all the content dropping in 1 month.
If this game had no content.... then it wouldn't be playable.

Are you serious? Most single player rpgs these days allow for maybe 20-30 hours of playtime until you beat it. I have played this game far more than that since release and have just now got full darklight and relic +1 on my BLM and now after maxing out my tomes for the week im leveling up my WHM. The content this game has right now blows newer offline rpgs out of the water.
Interesting. I wouldn't have expected 30 hours to be average. I haven't played that many recent offline rpgs so I can't speak for the majority, but the most recent two I have played were Skyrim which lasted me 300+ hours, easily. While Dragon Age: Origins, lasted me around 80 hours. I guess I have assumed Skyrim was on the big side, and Dragon Age was more average.
I'm pretty sure the OP hasn't done all the sidequests in all the areas... Each area has its own special Sidequests that are a storyline in and of themselves... Square didn't put them in just for the pretty copper markers to fill your map...
this works better http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post1578528
Don't link to the page, not everyone has the same number or post per page, for example, this post is on page 4 for me.
Edit*
Except that you can't do WAR quests as PLD, for example. All class and job quests ARE new content for somebody who has not done them.
Leveling a different class does not add content, it is a different way to experience the content.
It's like going to work with your bike instead of your car. The road and the environment doesn't change, your means of experiencing the road just changes.
That's not entirely true. Playing other classes does open new quests that you can't otherwise play if you didn't play that class. Is it a LOT of content, no. But it's 10 quests and stories you don't experience if you don't do them.
The road may be the same but the air running over your entire body is different. Maybe you prefer going down the road on the bike instead. You never know until you try.
Does player realise the same thread has been posted about 12903712903614823594 times now on the forum?
Exactly! Leveling is "apart" of content. Without leveling, this wouldn't be a MMORPG game. Each time you gain X amount of levels you are able to experience a new dungeon/part of the story/able to tackle down mobs you couldn't have previously/Get into a GC etc. Leveling is all apart of that, That's why I feel "in a sense" Leveling is content. However, everyone has different definitions on what they consider content, and I totally understand.
People are still quibbling over semantics? I thought this was cleared up already.
NM i forgot the nature of these forums. if its not on the first or last page, its forgotten or ignored...
"Oh my god! I only have played for 5 hours per day since release and I got nothing else to do anymore! I'm so bored! This game has no content!"
Playing for more than 400 hours and complaining that "there is no content" is quite funny to read.
"I don't want to level every class to 50. Doing FATEs over and over again is stupid."
Then, congratulations, you got a lvlmax character with the best available gear. You finished the main storyline as well as optionnal end game content. You beat the game. Now what? Well, now nothing. As I said, you beat the game. Come again when some more content is available, just like you would do with every other game.
"It's not my fault if I want to be productive and play efficiently! Doing sidequests/dungeons isn't worth it, you get less exp! I rushed the game to be level max and grab my best gear in the less possible amount of time, because I'm such a badass MMO vet'."
Are you complaining that you rushed the content and tried to be as "efficient" and "productive" as possible, meaning in fact that this kind of play is not fun, that you beat the game in the quickest play possible... and now you have nothing to do?
Isn't that the point of it? If you want to rush everything and "work" (quite literally) yourself to the top at sonic speed... isn't that what you are seeking, to beat the game? What were you expecting if it's not? Make up your mind.
As for me, no thanks, I'll continue to enjoy the available content "at snail pace" because I'm not stupid and I know that there is nothing that waits me in the wonderful land of "I-did-everything-and-now-there-is-nothing-else-to-do-for-me".
I don't want to be "productive" and "efficient", because that what my boss ask me to do everyday at work.
I want to play a game for fun.
I KNOW, RIGHT? IT'S SUPER SILLY AND IT MAKES NO SENSE, WHAT AM I DOING?
TL;DR version: The fun doesn't begin when you're done with everything you wanted to do. The fun comes while doing it.
Stop rushing, there's nothing after the end... and yes, there is an end.
(I could make a "having sex" comparison here, but you might get a little upset after I would have said that you were terrible in bed for trying to "rush it". Damn, it's so tempting tho'!)
