Gender Locked Items (Lightning Edition)

Why not make all the gear available for all genders? I for one would rock Lightning's outfit! ;)

I for one would be VERY pleased if the vendors let us buy both sets of vanity items. I never know what the future is going to hold for my character, after all. Vanity items are really fun for me and my friends, especially because we roleplay, and I would be disappointed if I changed to a boy and I no longer could use the fun items that I'd collected in the past. To have to feel like, "I was there for the 2014 Valentine's event and I completed it and all, but I couldn't get that nice red cook's outfit, just because I was a girl at the time," would be a little disappointing to me. It's not like it's gonna make or break my experience with the game, but I would be very appreciative of the ability to buy both sets if S-E is willing to add it.

Yep! The exchange system would work best here so that you can swap between sets of armour as you use Fantasias (if you end up changing your mind yet again later)

Yeah, I'm doing the same. I've been ignoring both my male characters for quite a while since I don't care as much about Snow's outfit. I've only got a couple levels left to go with Dylise (my female character) before she can do all the Lightning quests. But racing her through forty-five levels just so I can get some good level 13 gear is definitely not the way I'd have chosen to play the game.

(I at least stopped the story progression at 20 as soon as she could get her chocobo, and stopped other quests even earlier, so that I won't have totally ruined the rest of the game by racing through it. I'll be able to do that at a proper pace later where I can really explore everything. I'll just have to do it with a different class, since I had to race through her arcanist/scholar progression that I'd originally intended to be her main class.)

They should have just let you buy both, like every other event in the game. I got both swimsuits, since I changed gender I was still able to rock the swimsuit, and I'll always have a male set whenever I go back.

Seems odd that they'd make the level requirement so high for promotional gear, level 13 would've been more than suitable seeing as some people who (especially with the steam release) might want to pace themselves.

That's what I've thought, too, but apparently a lot of people on this forum seem to think that promo gear should be something you WORK SUPER HARD FOR RAWR!

Admittedly, I wish the male models could just wear the female version of clothing. At least then I could always wear everything.

Hopefully in the future they find a better balance between fates/quests and maybe some new concepts. FATEs are okay, the Christmas one was rather clever actually but using them for every event and every part OF the event is annoying.

Design wise, no problem. However I don't see them adding the Female Roe Skrillex hair to male characters any-time soon. (Who knows though, stranger things have happened!)

The Lightning Returns event is ending now, leaving the only way to obtain a new set of gear via the originally suggested NPC.

Which is preferred anyways. If Fantasias are to be sold via Mog Station, it's only expected that people are going to switch genders also. Really disliking the condition of the community having to want it. Just how many people have to exclaim want before implementation?

It would seem that the development team request enough support (I.E thread views, likes and responses) before considering adding it.
Which is a little strange, because we know fine rightly if they added this, it would most definitely be used and potentially multiples times too!.

However I don't see the Bohemians* or Guardian Corps* set items avaiable which is a shame, hopefully it wasn't written down and actually IS avaliable.
If not, then hopefully it gets adjusted.

Confirmed.

The Calamity Salvager covers all events EXCEPT for the Lightning Returns event gear.
If any community rep could confirm whether or not this could be adjusted that would be fantastic.

I saw that we can now also buy the event quest gears from the other gender from the calamity NPC (see valentine event gears)

Yes! Sadly we're not able to purchase the Lighting Event Gear for some reason, probably just an over-sight.

Being able to purchase that gender-locked gear would be nice too!

I also would like to see the Lightning event gear added to the Calamity Salvager's list.

It would seem not even the ones you did obtain during the lightning event are avaliable (regardless of your gender when obtaining it)

Hopefully if they DO add this extra bit in, BOTH genders are available, not just the gender you completed it on.

I somehow lost my Bow/Book from the Lightning Event. I'd like to be able to get it back, especially since I still have the Strange Otherworldly Parcels that are used to buy them.

They need to somehow make the Lightning Returns gear available again just in general. Redo the event or something. I played my butt off as much as I could given my play schedule (I missed the event the first pass) and only got my character to level 36 before the event was over.

It would seem that even though I have a male character I am also able to purchase the female version of the items.
So the possibility of the addition for the Lighting Returns Gear-set(s) and weapons is seemingly reasonable.

Hopefully in the future it can be obtained for those who have done it.
However obtaining items for events you never participated in might not be seen as too favourable.
(Who knows they may repeat it in the future, however that is an unlikely scenario)

This could be a potential addition too, seeing as the Calamity Salvager already offers "Seasonal Event" turn-in items for the Dream Tunic materials and other subsidiary items from older 1.23 events.

I really want se to look into this. I accidentally bought the black bikini set for males and the event doesn't offer black and I really want my swimsuit ; ;. Ive Gm reported they don't even offer me the swap for my one time only.. Not saying I didn't mess up but people still have vials to change and imo it's a valid concern :(

You can actually get this now. Go to the Calamity Salvager in any-main city and check if it's available, as it seems all seasonal gear is available except for the 1.23 items and the Lightning Returns Event items (for now).

(If you mean the black Cascadier Token this may work differently)
