Gathering does provide more money than the costs of repairs when vendor trashing, but it's not a very fast profit.

I think after about an hour of fishing in Coerthas, I made around 4k gil after repairs? It's hard to remember at this point, as I haven't been fishing as much in the past few days. Need to actually level some of my other classes.

This is true. The DoW/DoM classes should be somewhat reliant on the gathering/crafting classes for gear, and the gathering/crafting classes should be somewhat reliant on the DoW/DoM classes for mats.

I actually don't believe this is the case at the moment.

The lack of player repairs heightens this issue.

The game shouldn't be designed to force anyone to craft or gather. some people love to play Minecraft but you can't force every gamers to play Minecraft because it's not their cup of tea.

Your hobby is not everyone's hobby.

fighting monster and progress the storyline are the core gameplay of RPG. crafting and gathering are mini-games and mini-games shouldn't be relevant.

Me i farm with no stuff at all, only my weapon, and i sell thing.

I only use my stuff in dungeon, no choice if i want keep my money.

And i am bored about thread and people who don't understand, about trade gils player versus player, and make money.

You sell thing for craft, like i sell thing, this is good, but you didn't created the money, you only get it by someone.

So you become rich and make poor other, and the poor will be poor, and someday the money will be erased.

Can you create money at high level ? Answer NO
Can you get money by doing the story ? answer YES

Their is clearly a big problem, some people don't understand, some people Under lvl 50 say, no the game is fine i get lot of money (from story), and when they ding 50, they will get 98 gils per fate, and repair at 2k.

They will understand.

If people can't play, or get money, and can't repair (so can't play and be blocked) what they will do ?

Leave the game.

If you paid a monthly fee to join a gym, and were told you could come in any time you like, that'd be pretty normal right? We'd accept that, yeah? What about when we've been hitting the gym for about two weeks, and are then told we can only use certain equipment on certain days, unless we want to come twice a week and work part time for them, without monetary pay, but they'll then be allowed to use the equipment as they were told, as long as they maintain the part time work. I think most people would be second guessing the management of the gym right about now.

hes also from a legacy server that has a lot more gil already floating around and more than likely already had most his classes at 50 with prior wealth.

Player repairs would be nice and would be incredible for the economy as it would dampen gil sinks a great deal. I don't understand why it's not in.

We know there's a cut, we aren't crying about a cut being there. It's just an example of a gil sink. The cut itself is a gil sink. The AH all together, while exchanging gil between players sinks gil and does not create it. That's the point we are trying to make. It's fine that it is there and no one asked for it to be removed. Unknowledgeable people just say that they make gil on the AH house as an example of creating gil when in truth, it's a gil sink (an acceptable one)

And where's the evidence to the contary? Some people that play MMOs DO understand economy and the ups and downs that are inflation and deflation. Some people play MMOs just to play the economic. Just because you are unable to make predictions doesn't mean no one else can. Just because it might not happen doesn't mean you should not worry. Ignoring the issue isn't going to help anyone. But it makes sense that if the cost of battling exceeds the profit of battling that gil is being lost.

Telling everyone to craft is like telling all your customers to make their own products and to not buy from you.

New post regarding tomorrow's maintenance. They will be reducing the cost of Dark Matter and repairs in general. Especially high end gear repair.

Well sorry to inform you. But cassual players are the majority of their income.
