    Gil Issues @ 50

I have every class at 50, except for GLD.

I do dungeons @ 50 on all of them. Day 3, I had 800 gil, and went wtfbqq.

So I went and leveled up my botanist, and leveled some CRP and WVR with it.

Now I have 580k, and repair issues are gone completely.

There is no problem with gil acquisition.

The problem is people are incredibly lazy. This game requires you do crafts to have money. It's even part of the lore. I'm sorry if you can't spam 200 dungeons per day. But it's your fault.

    Yeah, it does.

Far too many people whining about it, and I don't want to see the game made easy-mode because people refuse to play 7/8 of their character.

That's not the problem, the problem is that the game was promised to hand out to you everything and it stops handing you money at end-game. There's no gil generation from an exploitable source to inflate the economy.

    Agreed!!

And to head off all the "Economists" on the forum let me add:

That 580k you earned is 'created' by the people you sell to. All these players doing leves/fates all day creating gil. As a crafter/gatherer, you get little pieces of that by selling your stuff to those people. You've realized you don't have to have gil created coming directly to you.

So yes, the market is an integral part of Gil creation. Gil creation > market > Repairs. It makes perfect sense. People are just upset because they have to do some work to gather up that gil created by so many players - they think it should be handed to them.

Level 50 crafting and gathering can also generate new gil into the game. Not all of it has to be generated by players who buy your goods.

Just want to point that out.

Players who are at the front of the curve in terms of leveling and running dungeons should realize that they are actually not the majority of the playerbase. Whether there are enough players who are interested in crafting and gathering to supply a constant influx of gil is unknown to us, but I suspect there are more players who are slowly leveling a couple of classes than there are players who are only leveling one battle class or only running dungeons and FATEs.

It's not worth talking about whether there's enough gil being introduced to the game at the moment, because not enough players are at a point where the numbers are at all meaningful. If you only look at level 50 players on the grounds that the game constantly provides gil as you level up, you'll ignore a huge section of the playerbase who may or may not be able to provide gil when they hit level 50.

The game is too young to debate something like economy. Not enough time has passed for enough information to be gathered.

*sigh* And fates give very little Gil while damaging your gear, so there is no real net gain of Gil.

Level 50 gathering earns you gil faster than you damage your gear. I can't comment on crafting, as I've no level 50 crafting class. Do you happen to have one?

Some people still aren't getting it.

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/9691...phic-5-20-2013

This is an infrographic from the one year anniversary of D3. If you look about half way down you'll see the amount of gold currently in the game. You'll notice in the pie chart below that selling items on the AH did not in fact create any of the gold in D3. It only moved it from one player to another.

So the theory remains that eventually when everyone is done with the story the amount of "gold looted from the ground" will be far less than the gold being sunk into the game. I'm not sure if there is any merit to the theory but it seems fairly soundly based.

And when that happens, SE can add a new gil source. For now, that source is NOT needed and would only be exploited. OPs point stands until deflation actually happens.
