That's what I think it should be like, but in 2.0, with the new TP system, it gives a lot more room for melee jobs to pull away from BRD and (possibly) BLM damage. That leaves a window for another ranged job to fill the gap, one I think RNG could fill, to possibly match melee output. I think ranged classes should suffer slightly in the damage department since they're relatively safe from damage on the whole, but I really wouldn't care too much if they were similar.
