Please provide some proof, I linked two different doomsayers who claimed that having anything besides party grind is going to kill the game.
Read the tera post that is on this forum, the other one that got deleted was also a good topic. I would say 19/20 people asking for grouping want it as an option not requirement. Read Zam, MMORPG, GAMEFAQ. Almost all the people are asking for it as choice. People written almost half page long post about the benefits of having both methods.
The only people on any forum who are demanding 1 method, besides a few trolls trying to get attention, are the casuals.
I am not going to make a list, read any topic about quest vs grouping. And you will see almost everyone wants it as an option.
That I understand. What I don't understand is players who have such an aversion to doing things with others that they perceive the necessity of groups during certain points being detrimental to the actual game itself. An MMO implies interaction with other players. If you want to solo exp, solo quests and do everything else alone it seems pointless to me to play an MMO. In my experiences people talk about most the things they did with others. No one ever goes, "Yeah, I soloed everything and had a blast!".
All I'm saying is you seem to demonize party play and I can't imagine what someone gets out of experiencing so much content alone. You said an MMO doesn't imply constantly teaming up with others, but honestly speaking isn't that the point? The intro to the game doesn't feature the hero slaying monsters and experiencing the lore on his own.
Stop trying change the topic by essentially defining the word 'Grind'. We were talking about pt based mob grinding vs quest based leveling. You do not need to pt grind on mobs in order to quest-based level, period. They are completely different leveling systems that can function independent of the other. Of course you can choose to mix it up if you want, as the 'grind ppl' have been suggesting..
Did you even read those links you posted? Neither requested that quest based leveling be removed as you claim, only that pt based mob grinding be supported fairly.. Ppl are allowed to not like quest based leveling just like you don't like pt grinds.
Nope.
I don't have an aversion to playing with people, and I do plan on solo questing.
I have an aversion to people who are anti-solo-questing, as you can see by the two that I've linked earlier in the topic. I have never once asked that grinding be removed from the game, or that dungeons be made solo-able, or that end-game raids be made solo-able.
But there have been people who have asked for this game to offer no solo options.
