They have explained what they're changing, just not every little detail. They've given us information about the general types of changes we're getting. Some of it has been more specific than others but we still have a decent idea of what is changing on a larger scale. We were told about this huge upheaval of the gameworld in October, which was released with documents detailing most of the broader changes.
To be honest with you I had a lot of fun in the 1.0 beta testings. I will miss a few things about this engine as well as a few spots in the world. With this new beta coming out I'm sure they will tell us not to leak it, but people will do it anyways.
Summer seems to have a lot of meaning to it, It will come when it comes ( which is Gamescom).. People need to stop stressing of this -.-. " All Summer long" "Coming in August" Whatever, I only listen to what comes out of Yoshida's Mouth ( Which is coming in August/Gamescom). We know they are showing off Gameplay there..that along would be enough information, But I know its going to be way more than that.
"All Summer Long" came from Yoshida, the reps just relayed that message. In hindsight if you look at what we got from E3 to now, it's basically being pushed out "all summer long" -- however I think most people harbor an issue with the fact SE is waiting to give everyone what they want -- solid information at a steady pace.
I think " All Summer Long" got taken too literally, I think they were just saying that to just get people to relax that information is coming soon in the Summer time. If it comes in small waves in the summer time, or If it comes in one big glump in the Summertime. It all equals to the same information at the time Gamescom comes.
Also, the Website has quite a few information on there as well that I personally didn't know before, also New Concept Art of Ul'dah.
Also, Welcome back Jennestia! :)
We will probably see a nda for both alpha and closed beta phases. It's standard operating procedure, they want to keep a lid on what info gets out to the public during that time.
that being said there will most likely be some interweb hero's who break it. I think every one remembers the Pookiepoo incident from alpha test #1.
