I Love the Endwalker Relic Series

I think the Bozja system was actually good and just needed a bit more fine tuning.

The first relic is a time sink and others are faster to get,
Make it so you can either grind materials or buy them with tomestones. Just make it so it doesn‘t go either way too much.

The relics have always been easy too get but required you to invest time.
They showed that you have been ready to take the time and do sometimes painful grinding and that gave a certain level of pride in having that weapon.

The reason people didn‘t like the EW way was because they LIKED the time sink.
They LIKED showing of the weapon and the time it took to get it.
Changing that changed the target audience and that just shouldn‘t happen.

Either they try to make both sides happy again or they need to add content for those who like to have a casual grind and show off the prize that comes with that.

This is an mmo. Grind is part of the fun for some of us.

I've had to rewrite this a few times because I'm not entirely sure how to respond to this post.

Given their history with both Eureka and Bozja I didn't think it too outlandish to claim that they would be tangentially related in some way, shape, or form.

With Stormblood relics, you are required to do that content to get the relic, something I have yet to even do because I have to complete BA. The relic provides you an elemental bonus which helps you in that zone, making it still useful to get for those that like that sort of content and why I personally want the Dawntrail relics to provide a boost similar to that if they follow the trend of having them related to the field operation. This does not mean I want the relic locked behind this content either, but if it's related in some way, then I'd like to have a bonus equipped because then it would still be somewhat viable, even if it has the niche use.

For Shadowbringers, you still had to do that content up to completing DR which requires a resistance rank of 10 I believe, which on release wasn't the quickest to get to because the mettle that you obtained at the time was very minimal.

It's why I think that the Dawntrail relics will be tied to the field operation, and the alternative methods they mention might be similar to how you could still get the material drops outside of these zones but at a reduced rate. The only thing I would want from this is to not prevent progress on the relic like they did with CLL and DR which I hope would appease most people.

Personally, I'm happy that it isn't a tomestone dump again and that we'll actively be working towards it whether it be with field operations or not. I understand I myself am biased because it's my favorite content in the game and the relics are not why I do it.

The Endwalker relics are better futureproofed than Eureka and Bozja at least are... Unless they've nerfed them so hard that you can relatively easily solo everything in there nowadays to get through it all.

Very bad relic series made having a bis weapon a joke and not a reward for people who either grinded a relic or did savage.

Classic XIV player mentality.

The sooner I can stop playing and zone out, the better.

Who cares about future proofing old glam weapons that are still accessible

If all content is made as accessible as the EW relics to future proof them we won’t have any content to begin with

a goal in a game is fun to go after, this is/was mindless. you just "get" the tomes and get special weapon with no effort at all. that's not how a game should be made. after i got all of them i felt nothing, it was just "ok cool" rather than "sweeet! i finally finished my EW relics!" it feels good to earn things and not basically handed to you on a sliver fucking plater.

That’s the great thing; you don’t have to! You could just not do the grind and not get the relic. It’s not something you need. You can just get the tomestone weapon instead.

The relics are traditionally for people who want something to grind for, and I would appreciate SE not taking that away from me a second time.

Acquisition methods aside, it would be nice to have a set of relic weapons worth caring about. I know that it's difficult with 21 weapons, but ending the final step on 'adjective weapontype' feels uninspired compared to the likes of Excalibur and Ragnarok. It feels strange that we've already used up a batch of unique names like Sargatanas and Angel Brush on the Lv. 99 weapons only to inevitably end up with generic weapon names on the final relic step.

ARR definitely had the best weapon effects.
