Cheesing may not have been THE problem, however, it certainly was A problem. I saw someone's HP jumping suspiciously pretty much every time I got into a CT raid. It was also 100% exploiting the system because there is no way that was working as intended. They fixed the loophole. That, in general, is a good thing. CT raids are still naturally going to be the most common because they are the only ones required for the MSQ and also the lowest level ones. I can definitely say I see the higher level raids more often now, especially Endwalker ones.

I agree with needing more carrots, though. I personally tend to do all purple quests, so I don't understand people who never unlock the raids, but it seems like a large portion of them never do.

You can buy the ilvl 255 gear in Ishgard but you need to unlock Ishgard first.
OP can go get it for her with his main but a new player in the same situation can't and either have to stop using Alliance roulette which btw make no sense since if they don't have access to Ishgard they don't have access to 60+ raid anyway or they have to use marketboard (if not on trial) for a 40% price increase and that often worse for accessories.

It could also have been have been a by-DC thing. Before the change, I was getting Nier all the time on Aether. Still get it pretty regularly. So the roulette hasn't changed much for me except I actually do see the random Void Ark raid again. I got Fun Scaith for the first time in ages yestesrday. But that makes sense because the free trial was boosted. I run it pretty much every day in eastern prime time. Aether also tends to get a heavy influx of Dynamis people so there's nearly always a new player message when CT pops up. I also saw a LOT of people say they weren't even doing the roulette before the change so I've always been skeptical when a certain scapegoat was pointed out by those not even engaging with the content to see what the current status of it was.

They didn't think this change through thoroughly and just kind of knee-jerk reacted and now it's preventing players on accelerated servers from accessing the roulette through no fault of their own. They really need to add an MSQ qualifier and that will fix the issue because they can still hold players to being at the ilevel requirement that their MSQ progress would allow for.

This is what people cried to get and now they have it. Working as intended.

Don't mean to necro a nearly year old thread, but having experienced an issue with raid roulettes today, I had to look into what was causing it.

Everything you say makes sense except for the MSQ qualifier solution. I've never witnessed anyone swap gear to do this, but even if the health exploit PercibelTheren claimed was happening was true, that could be solved by just not letting people change gear after entering a duty or identifying what issue is present in the code allowing such an exploit. As for people avoiding level-adjacent content, I don't think that should be stopped by ilvl limits, as that causes issues like I had today where even though I and my partner were leveling lower level classes, their ilvl didn't meet their level bracket's raid, causing us to get blocked until we found a class that was on par with mine and had sufficient gear. Instead I propose they change the raids to act similarly to expert roulette, where it requires you to unlock content before gaining access to that roulette again. This would still push people to at least try the other alliance raids besides CT, but not damage the experience of newer players or people trying to level classes they don't usually play or groups of players running together having that ilvl issue.

HW raids aren't that difficult or time consuming. You're cruising on easy street until you hit Orbonne Monastery.

If she severely outleveled her MSQ, either have a friend craft gear for her or buy from the market board. It's what I did and it worked.

You need to up your ilevel to the minimum required for the Alliance raids that is level 60 to be able to run them.

What are you smoking? That was totally the issue. It was one of the reasons I stopped queuing for that roulette.

Not sure why this thread was necro'd but this was changed recently again. You can only get barred from Alliance Roulette if you have UNLOCKED the most recent roulettes but don't have the right gear for them. Now if you are level 60, but do not have the HW raids unlocked for whatever reason (not there yet, don't feel like unlocking them, etc...) then you will just only queue into CT raids.
