Then how is it impossible to optimize your stats again? It's not. you even said yourself, you know how to optimize your gear. It's obviously not impossible then. Again, the equations are not important, the only thing that's important to being able to optimize your gear, is knowing generally how each stat fits into those equations. Whether or not each stat point has a dramatic effect, has nothing to do with it either, it's about knowing that 3 points in x stat isn't enough to make a huge impact, so that piece with 7 in y stat is better.Quote:

Yes that is the number one thing to avoid is creating a system where it's both impossible to make tiered content (via gear) and balance current content (to gear).
Imagine if Garuda and Ifrit Extreme were designed with not just single melds, but single/double/DL gear+WS sets/nuke sets/idle sets/stoneskin sets/etc -

Currently, as many people have already said, the variable with the most oomph the current calculations is level difference.
If anything, this is what needs major revamping. the thought of the current formulae in a PvP setting is a nightmare to me. if you're not level 50, prepare to get WTFpwned.
the stats themselves i think are fine. i think the big problem right now is the dLVL in the formuae.
with the way damage is currently done, almost all damage is done via WSs and abilities. auto attack, while nice, doesn't really play that big a role. Also because the general rule is damage=enmity everyone should really be gearing for maximum damage. IE: everyone should be gearing for WS and capping their main stats. CNJ being the obvious exception, but they are still pretty straightforward: enhancing potency and healing potency. (MND and VIT) -

Part of the reason a lot of people didn't do Ballista in XI, there was an entirely different formula for attacking players (basically, straight damage reduction)
Monsters have the same HP pools and same damage formula that players do in this game, I don't see why you would specify that it was somehow different just for PvP lol -

If a Food says STR 15%(15) that means you'll gain up to 15 STR based on your max STR up to 15% so if you have 200 STR you simply do 200 x.15 and you get 30, but since the food is only max of 15 you'll only receive 15 STR but you'll know that with said food you'll be able to get all the benefits of it. Of course though they also have a description of food to say how much of the effect you get I believe when you get full effects it's "divine" so it's not like there aren't things to figure out the benefits of food and if you want to know how much benefits food offers it's simple math.Quote:
