Beastmaster

Striking Job

Weapon: Whip

Gameplay: Job has some 'basic' pve kit, mostly geared to solo instances, and tame a myriad of beasts to collect in a catalogue.

The main feature of the job, however, is pet combat. Dawntrail's main city offers an arena for this, and you can battle pve content, but mostly important, pvp against other players. Feels like pokémon in a sense, but during this type of combat, you take full control of your pet and the Beastmaster stays outside. The arena's pve focuses more on execution, rather than puzzle fights of the Blue Mage's Masked Carnivale.

To me, Beastmaster is about the perfect excuse for a Limited job focused on pet diversity and pet combat.

A limited tank is my ideal as I'd like them to work towards having a "light party" comp of limited jobs.
Don't care what class or job identity has, so long as its a limited job with a focus on tanking.

Onion Knight

It feels like a job that was made for this concept; a potentially stupidly overpowered job that takes bits and pieces from every other job that is wholly customizable by the player with whatever skills and spells they deem fit.

Imagine the chaos of mixing Requiescat + Thin Air + Flare, or Barrage + Double Down, or stacking every damage up buff together.

Beast Master or Puppeteer

Either could work for super gimmicky duel-like gamplay like The Masked Carnivale.

Certainly hope it's not beastmaster, I want it to be a regular job, not one that you forget 2 weeks after its update.

I'm not real picky about what they choose.

I just hope this time they truly make it a limited job that "isn't group-content focused". Blue Mage ended up far too group content focused with the number of abilities that can only be gained from group content not to mention the major achievements being related to group content.

All I want is for it to not be PUP. :(

They pulled off a great version of BLU in FFXI, one that was able to do the story content. Look how that turned out here

Agreed. They swore up and down it wasn't going to be focused on group content but then made things like the log that you can't even try solo or duo or such for credit. And put so many spells in group content.

whats the point of limited jobs anyway?
