No, they are deemed bad since many people forget what they type on those ones or how they type it since it needs the correct format. I don't remember, could have been Microsoft or Google who had the same opinion that its bad system and needs more secure one which is also easier for everyone to use without hazzle. Can't find the article since its been years.

Lastly I want to point out that the person that sends you these tells are on a poor scammed victims account sending out mass tells. They are victims just like your husband is now and probably sent out mass tells with his character when they had control of it. Just so others know, never follow a link from strangers. If it looks phishy it probably is.

Thank you so much for this information and for everyone who has been supportive and helpful. We're both obviously upset, mostly at ourselves. Still waiting on a GM and literally holding our breath hoping our FC house comes out intact.

UPDATE WE GOT HIS ACCOUNT BACK AND FC HOUSE IS INTACT!! Thank God in Lord Jesus Christ's name AMEN!

We're SO thankful to everyone here who was helpful and supportive. It was my same dumb husband that had the brilliant idea to do an emergency OTP removal through the support website. I didn't even think to suggest that b/c I figured we wouldn't be able to get into the account to apply the serial code given. They stole all the gil, but jokes on them - we're poor anyways LOL

Sounds about right. Obviously its a fake “link” that people are too blind to see it. When i first got the tell about the raffle , i told that hacker to smd, f*ck off and get a life like i will fall for that fake shit lol

Glad to hear that you got your account back but

WARNING about character restoration.
SE's track record with character restoration is pretty bad. It usually takes 10-14 days for them to do the rollback to restore characters to their state at the time an account was compromised if you are trying to get gil or other items restored.

Keep in mind if you request the rollback, anything you obtain and store in your character's inventory, retainer inventory, etc. during the rollback wait period will be lost.

In other words, if you request a rollback don't go out of your way to farm any special gear or items until the rollback is completed. If you do get items you want to keep, try to get a trusted friend to hold them for you and trade them back after the rollback is finished.
