Just Delete PvP at this Point

Fix Frontlines, please!

Its pretty simple:
1. Remove factions completely and make it with 2 teams. Getting sandwiched is not fun.
2. Add Rival Wings as a new daily type to the daily roulette (so you can participate on 2 PvP modes per day)

I don't think FL would work well with just 2 teams, and getting sandwiched is usually completely avoidable.

I would really like to know how to avoid to getting sandwiched. Because its happening on my datacenter in nearly every match. That makes FL more random than the gold saucers mini cactpot.

And FL would work with 2 team very well. I dont see why you need 3 teams so bad. 2 bases and some minor changes on the map is all you need. That would decrease the RNG-factor by alot.

Needless to say, that the "Battle High"-buff make some jobs nearly impossible to kill, while they can kill you in no time. And still having roles (tanks, healers, dps) in PvP is still unbalanced, especially in a 1v1 fight.

Then you would probably often see situations where one team realizes it can steamroll the other and proceeds to do so for the entire rest of the match, ignoring all objectives and still dominating.

Then its at least balanced, because its still 24v24 and not 24v48. Do you really think its better when 2 teams are dominating the 3rd together?

Lets play this round. One team is aggressively attacking (or dominating) the other team. Ignoring all objectives. But a few people from the other team manages to going stealth and playing the objectives, while their team is still distracting the other. The dominating team will lose players slowly and newly spawned reinforcements are to far away. At the end, the dominated team will get more points than their attackers, because they manage to push them back or overwhelm them while playing the objectives in the meantime.


At the current state, FL is just a big guessing game.
You cant even be safe in your own base, because the invincible-buff only lasts 10s after spawn. But good luck defending your base after that.
You get sandwiched purely random. One faction picks the weakest faction, the other faction just goes totally enrage. Good luck defending against them.
And your most own team doesnt even know how to play FL. Defending points? Take out drones? Capture stuff? No, just chasing one enemy trought the entire map and got killed afterwards.

While you cant fix players, you can at least try to fix the game. Make it 2 teams, so there is no sandwich. Make bases safe (add turrets or a buff) and make some balance changes for jobs.
Until that, there is no chance to play FL seriously.

Reducing the overall Playercount in Frontline would already suffice in fixing it for the better. Instead of 24vs24vs24, it would be enough to just turn it into half as many People on each side, and add in some sort of random elements while were at it (like powerful NPCs roaming arround or like in Bozja, having a Airship carpeting the entire Map in random AoEs) to not only spice things up, but also to prevent onesided Matches.

There never was a reason to play it seriously, it's just a (sometimes) fun diversion that's best approached without being overly concerned about the results.

I don't believe your proposed changes would fix the mode however. I think they would make it a worse experience. The scenario you outlined is fairly unrealistic, with just 2 teams there will be no distractions. The dominate team can either win from kills alone, or fight at objectives and deny the other team while amassing kills. With a third team at least the focus is split.

Trying to "player proof" the game mode is just going to degrade it further. As you stated, most of your own team doesn't know what they are doing much of the time and therein lies most of the problem. The proposed changes aren't going to alter that basic fact.

A lot veterans probably dont likes it but the gap between veterans and newbies are diminished in term of gameplay. Right now I can only differienate the difference by seeing whether they know heaving swing and weapon throw is on same DR. In which it is a good thing. The problem with Frontline was never with the system but more with people refuse to follow leadership

No thanks, 3rd GC is actually where the fun part is and avoid the game turns into lob game like RIval Wing
I am already sick enough with years old WoW battleground.
If you are smart enough you can bait 3rd GC to do your bidding
There are so many ways to control how 3rd GC behaves but you are just not seeing it.

I didnt say that the Systems they provided are flawless by any means. All that i said was that Peopleshould take a closer look on how those games did things, to grasp the Foundation they have build their PvP on.
Was their PvP good? Well, thats debateable to preferences, but did it work in a sense People were genuinely enjoying it? Abolutely.

And it is quite normal that someone who dedicates himself completely to PvP, will always triumph over People who do not. The same goes for any other type of content, so how come, that PvP should be any different to that regard? What do you even expect People to say, outside of coating your Beard with honey, how PvP should be improved upon?

Just because it "works" doesn't necessarily mean it is good.
