Bribing people with tomes is a terrible reward structure. Especially when you can get them through other means. Also, the fact they have to "bribe" people is telling of how crap the system is. People should want to do the content for intrinsic rewards

It doesn't have to be tomestones, I just put that in there since that falls in line with all the other roulettes.

I thought about adding a new currency that is used for trading for glamour, minions, housing items, or "Master" specific items at the Master Trader.
Or specific mount that only drops in Master Roulette, or a trans mog item that is tied to specific dungeon.
Housing items that are tied to master roulette to put on display.
Purchase highest tier materia with this currency also, to sell or use.
Special titles tied to Master Roulette.
Special achievements tied to Master Roulette

The whole idea is to make it optional, but not required. If it's not your thing...you don't have to. If you want to partake and achieve those goals...go for it.
Ultimate isn't required
Savage isn't required
Extreme isn't required
PVP isn't required
Housing isn't required
crafting isn't required
gathering isn't required
Gold Saucer isn't required
Roulettes isn't required

FFXIV is brilliant in what it describes as fun...it let's the player decide. I don't see the harm or problem in suggesting adding difficulty to the roulettes. Hard modes were great and added a fantastic spin on great dungeons.

Expert roulette is no longer expert...it's just another daily chore.

My current daily chore list (takes about 2-2 1/2 hours to complete):

Farm for map sell map
Check MB prices, farm for mats to make 250,000 gil for the day (personal goal)
Setup retainer 18 hour ventures
Setup Squadron 18 hour run
Idle banter in FC chat while I post items, setup retainers/squadrons
Run expert, 50/60/70/, trial in about an 45min-Hour (preferably with FC as it's faster, and I like helping them out)
Check Party Finder, might run an extreme or savage.
Check auctions once more
Log out.
Wait for FC weekly High End raid once a week

This works for my schedule and lifestyle, but I would LOVE to change party finder and expert, 50,60,70, trial for a "Master Roulette" since I just don't need tomestones at this point and I want the challenge. Hell I would probably play longer if those challenges existed.

Unreal was a test I felt...just to see who would want to go back to try old content at level 80. Maybe it's not something everyone does. But it shows that they CAN do it...and to me that's promising.

There would most definitely be leader boards with the thought process i'm thinking. As well as Seasons per expansion broken up into 4 seasons a year, with 4 competitions a year. With two divisions "Master Roulette", and "Master Pre-Made" *register with a set 4 man group consisting of 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 dps.
(each with different prizes, titles, mounts, etc.)

A score given to the team based on: Centered around fastest time, least amount of party damage taken, boss kill times, deaths incurred, interrupts.

With leaderboards you would have a record holder until they replaced with a better score. The one 4 man team at the end of the season would get a special achievement, trophy (housing item or for FC house) to display.

I'll call it "Festival of the Hunt" (FFIX reference).

No different the Restoration projects, and highly competitive.

I wish I could share your faith in humanity, but my experience is that no one wants to run with inexperienced/undergeared players if there isn't something in it for them. I take exception to the idea that a system which rewards you for helping out new players is "crap." Coming from WoW, I've seen the complete opposite of this, which is a system that exclusively rewards the best of the best for exclusively running with the best of the best. I can tell you with no reservations whatsoever that that system is crap.

People in WoW hate those dungeons tho. Honestly, just do sav and extremes. Or solo Deep dungeon. The expert rout is just the newest 2 dungeons. They should change the name cause people keep thinking it's something it's never been. And even if they did make this it'll just get nerfed because thats how this playerbase is. Remember... we have very easy mode in solo story dungeons because apparently even that was too hard for people.

It's actually pretty profitable. I do the 'quick' roulettes daily, namely a trial and a normal raid which gives me roughly 22K each day in gil. More when I pick the bonus role. In addition, I do a PvP roulette each day as well.

I get a decent amount of tomes/wolf marks each week which I exchange for profit. Wolf marks get spent on glamour prisms, which I sell. Poetics go on demicrystals, which tend to sell decently when sold in clusters of five or ten. Allegory tomes, meanwhile, go on workbench refining sand which usually sells for about 1K each - sometimes more.

Expert Roulette is misnamed, its not a 'hard mode.' It is there to ensure that players will always be able to get through the latest story dungeons, because the roulette system biases towards lower level content and people often run roulettes on underleveled classes. Without it, it would be very hard for people getting to the latest dungeons past release week to clear them without extreme queue times because the only people around to help them because the pool of people queuing into 80 content would be so small. And despite what some people are saying it DOES work, your daily rewards are probably the best source of whatever resource your looking for at any given time, there is a reason people still run even MSQ.

Roulette content deliberately is not in a place where it segregates the playerbase from people trying to do first clears. You are being paid to help the community (and IMO should conduct yourself as such, being friendly and helpful and mentorly to people struggling with mechanics), and if you want to do harder stuff, you should be using PF for high end content.

I don't mind the idea, conceptually, of high end dungeon content, but it should not be in the roulette system overall, or at least not among the 'primary' roulettes. That would defeat the point of it being a roulette.

Also, some of these 'expert ideas' like "No AOE markers" are bad and don't make sense in XIV's combat system. I also think overly agro syncing isn't fun, but I get it in the case of very specific content such as Unreal.

Please no mythic+. Please no timed dungeons. Too much "gogogo" already in the game.

How many failures on the boss that you see every day is still fun? How many times it's fun to wipe to that particular pack of mobs because bard keeps hitting sleeping monster with AoE or tank forgets to interrupt big spell? Because something tells that snapping point comes quicker than you think.

History shows that players rather not engage with the content or leave the game if daily grind gets too hard. It happened in WoW on the release of Cataclysm, it happened in XIV with shinryu, when good players would rather lower their ilvl than wipe with newbies 10 times in a row. And same will happen with hard roulette.
