Going into a thread about said topic is stupid is fine, the rest is pretty rough.

As for the topic of alt f4ing Balmung -- sure but what does it solve? Mateus has been the run-off for people who cant get into Balmung and is slowly transforming into Balmung due to that. People will just go somewhere else.

I wonder about this as well. Or if it's just a crystal thing or that the places I've been to even on the rare times I've gone to them alone were the less seedy ones. As it feels like it's a bit odd if not weird to have a person out of the blue ask you if you'd like to become a court. Since they did say they had been rping and a private room was given use to as long as the owner wasn't entertaining clientele. As I've never seen this even after I gave some performers praise for the show they had put on. I admit I don't really rp and tend to shut down fairly quickly any person I don't knows attempt to rp with me or offers for company or drinks by courts or servers. Heck most of the time I get ignored by the bar tenders. The biggest thing I see is rpers trying to stick to one kind of delivery. Basically not always sticking with putting everything in say even their movements or using the emote chat system.

just don't rp with people you don't extensively vet/run background checks on. ez.

The problem with this stuff not staying underground is that any screen cap that can show something considered to be pornographic can get SE into a lawsuit in several US states for sharing pornography with minors.

The absolute last thing FFXIV needs right now is some idiot Karen starting up a lawsuit because their kids were engaged with porn and have the screenshots to prove it.

According to that statement, people shouldn't be using ACT but raiders do right? So if SE can make an exception for some type of players then it is only just to make an exception for another type of players too.

Also, what's the big deal of just declining? Say you are not into that stuff and period. I don't really know what the situation with RP is at large because right now most of my time in FFXIV is spent alt-tapped, waiting for pf groups to fill up but before I was raiding, I also had different search info and I was Miqo'te so people did approach me in towns, even in Zadnor, and we then move the discussion to discord and I was more than fine with it. In my opinion, the only thing that matters the most is whether you are having fun or not and usually ToS is made to put restrictions on the very few oddballs of society whose fun comes at the detriment of others.

Regarding the OP, I don't really get the meaning of "FFXIV sex trade". It's not like you can do it. The person just assumed you were like them I guess so they proposed whatever they proposed. You can't really blame them for that though, you were in their event after all. If you don't want to be hit up in the wrong way, don't be around the type of people who are wrong for you, it's that simple. Unlike you, there are ppl who want exactly that type of experience for which the event was made I guess.

It's not victim-blaming. Victim blaming can occur only if they were actually a victim. The OP is not a victim and even considering that they are a victim is very far-fetched. The OP was with the wrong people for her. That's like hanging out with people who constantly smoke, and falling into the delusion that you are their victim because they asked you to smoke with them too. It is only natural for people to want you to become more like them when you are doing stuff together. You would become a victim only if they forced you into things against your will which is not remotely the case with what happened to the OP.

Since we started talking about victims, if you look at things from a different perspective you can arrive at the conclusion that the host of the event became a victim of the OP's difference in taste for fun. The event clearly wasn't meant for her, and she partly ruined the fun of the one who organised all of it.

But let's look at things objectively. Organise your own RP events where you control what's happening, instead of having someone else organise that for you and complain about things they like doing that you don't. It's the same with pf groups with different macros. If you don't like Light Titan and you want Dwayne Titan then make your own party and wait for ppl to fill that party.
