I'm gonna be done with my relic, just missing 4 runs. If anything drops yay, but if not well I don't mind at all. Got the Parassol at least!

This is why I love safety net design, I don't care for that old era thought of "could be 1 run could be 2,000". It helps that I can safely assume stuff will be nerfed later, but it is certainly at a point where if I know something could be easily 10 runs to 1,000 that I'm just probably not going to bother until the rate is better because that just sounds like an awful use of time. Also safety net design will also often reveal force devs to not be too crazy- like they might put an item at .01% drop rate and "oooh ahhhh it's so rare boiis!" but if they put it at 10,000,000 tokens people would be like "ARE YOU SERIOUS??".
I wonder how well tokens would do that you could sell. Price items in the token shop such that it's not 1:1 or anything (you know a hair might take 20 tokens), but then players could make very reliable gil or progress to their item of choice. I would also, since we're on the topic, think it might be interesting to spice up token shops interface to make them feel a bit less like turning in your coal for a paycheck (bit more colorful UI, less like "any other store").
Of course pure RNG and no safety net does make a great way to force people to grind and grind and grind without any release from RNGeus. But... ew. lol
Would be nice to have that type of luck...I've rank it 13/14 times, and I've gotten one Orchestrion roll(Sochen Cave Palace), and 4 of the tabletop miniatures(2 Warrior and 2 Gunner). That's it aside from the field reports, fragments(like 15 total) and silver coins.
It’s also poor design, most gatcha games have a safety net or pity system because they know if you go over a certain number of attempts with nothing to show, people stop trying. Heck, every Casino knows this and will give you something when playing a slot machine. You have to give something often but just not enough to let people finish too quickly.
Yeah no drops is just not doing it for me. you have to do 5 runs to even get like ONE gold coin. I just don't want to do a ton of runs. I'm getting burned out on this - with literally nothing to show for it. I didn't even finish the second step of relic grind, so I am actually getting nothing from it. The judge gear is just glam to me, and it's just average glam for my au ra, and frankly any of the presets I play.
Seems like people are forgetting Gyr Abanian Plait. (HoH in which you had to run Silver shack floors and pray for the chest to give you the action needed to reveal accursed horde shacks and then pray that you could get the hair to drop from these RNG shacks. Yes, I've opened countless Silver Shacks over the years, and I've never seen Gyr Abanian Plait drop)
They treat hair as an incentive to run content, as a reward, and they have never been against locking it behind grindy RNG. The reason this hair is likely 20mil on the MB right now is because most people are so far behind in Bozja that they can't even do DR and have to catch up now that the devs have made it clear they're not going to give you the shiny for just doing brain-dead non Bozja content.
Prices will go down when more people start doing DR.
I got the Barding on my 5th or 6th run and the hair on my 12th (which I promptly sold for 19 million gil). Probably the luckiest I've even been in content. Now I just need the mount.
*If* they can get to DR
Right now, Castrum is turning into a wall that is nearly impassable. Most Castrum attempts rarely get enough players to run it and know how to run it.
I really wish the devs would judge casual content difficulty by how easy it is to do with their spouse or significant other. If they don’t like doing it with them, then you have a design problem.
