In my opinion this is the only real way to do maps lol. I totally agree.

Just did a 16 map speed run
- 84 minutes
- 225k+ gil each
- 200 Allegory Tomes
- 126 Revelation Tomes
- 1 Ballroom Etiquette - Decadent Decoration
- 1 Calf Leather
- 1 enchanted elm lumber (clear prize from The Shifting Oubliettes of Lyhe Ghiah boss)
- a ton of cheap mats, materia, and crystals
Rewards are fine, and I popped the first chest 7 minutes after putting up the party finder (5 person full PUG, me/tank/healer/any/any)
As probably mentioned somewhere on the pages, I'll bring it up anyways.
People do run different parties differently. We cannot have a queue system without enforcing a specific rule type. This already would make a good chunk stop.
Nothing also stops people from just going into the group, leeching the funds off, and running off with free stuff without even contributing a single map. They already do, but at least with PF I can keep a list and keep people I know to leech out of my parties. a Duty system makes me lose that control, and for me personally, that would make me stop doing them entirely.
solo maps usually contain older items that used to be in the party size maps. If you must have the latest glamors you need to run the party Zonureskin maps and hope for good luck in the portals. It's all a matter of your desire for the latest glamor or not. The biggest thing with maps is patience and whether or not luck is on your side.
It needs to be added to the actual duty finder as an automatic feature. You queue for it just like a Guildhest and when someone initiates one you can choose to automatically join in the party. It is not some game breaking change honestly and just a quality of life feature instead of constantly searching the party finder.
I think a queue system would be okay if it required someone to not only possess a map, but to have it opened and ready to go. It could keep its place on the map so you could form a group yourself, or it could choose somewhere random (maybe have 1 or 2 areas set aside per zone where nothing really happens) with a matched party. Then it could go through a series of 8 maps in a bit of a Fate/Trial setup with Need/Greed loot options only, and people couldn't leave until it was all said and done.
Maybe a portal could spawn (not a 100% chance) at the end and the group could continue from there. After succeeding or failing the treasure portal the trial would be over and the group would disband. It'd be a bit of a time investment but I couldn't see it taking very long in total.
I think a once a day cooldown would be reasonable as well if you use the queue system. Obviously those with the time, money and patience to run more should continue to have the right to do as many as they can stomach with premade parties. I've been in map groups, and the slowest part of it is traveling. Cut that part out and it becomes so much quicker. Just an idea, really.
This is my response as well. A queue system isn't really necessary if you're in an established FC.
Our FC runs maps twice weekly (Wed & Sat). Each day indepently rotates through 60s, 70s, and 80s to give more members an opportunity to join. Usually we run two parties, and go for a little under two hours.
One of the reason to do it with trusted group (friends or FCmate) is because sometimes those players aren't a fan of "Free For All"-loot policy. Another concern is...loot scooters from PF. It doesn't happen often though.
