Please make healing more worthwhile than Dps-ing

When people mess up a mechanic? Maybe it's okay to let them die... i say maybe because i believe it's within a healer job to back them up (except... maybe if they mess up repeatly and die as soon as being raised (i hate that lol))

But the problem is some healers are not even healing the bare minimum, they are pushing their healing responsibility to their partner who is the same dps-ing healer which leading into a wipe... this happen more and more in high level play where people act like thay are the perfect healer... again im not saying all healer is like that

Healing need to have more benefit than just recovering hp... something that contribute in more dps or idk something more than just hp... *brainstorming*

One thing to be very careful with is tying any given benefit to the amount of healing someone does. That way leads to overhealing madness. Imagine a damage up buff tied to GCD heals. If everyone is at full HP...why would you heal them?

Square needs to realize that healers are not designed the way DPS are, and looking at a healer as a health dispenser the way DPS are damage dispensers leads to incredibly stupid kit design.

Savage is additional, HARDER content. You need to understand that once you get to the point of savage that healers have more then one job. DPSing. I'm a healer main and I DPS, even when HP is low, no one is dying, so. If someone is dead and Swiftcast is down, then they can wait til my timer is up for a rez.

I can heal and toss out many glares in last phase of E4s. I shouldn't need to sit around and wait just to do something, that's boring. The reason I do savage is for the challenge.

If Swiftcast is ready, I raise really quickly.
If not people may have to wait depending on the boss and its mechanics and how many times they already died.

Some bosses are more lenient and hard casting Raise works, but on bosses like Titan I usually don't bother to try because chances are high I have to cancel it after 6sec of casting and not contributing anything.
And if someone already died multiple times, they're even lower on my priority list.
May do them some good to watch the fight from the floor until Swiftcast is ready.
With 2 healers, you can instant raise 2 people per minute. If that doesn't cut it, maybe people should start watching their feet.
This is less about "muh deeps" and more about "Geez... Again?! Get in line, I don't shit Swiftcasts".

Then you will have only succeeded in reskinning damage. Decrease it a bit and you simply reduce the damage costs of healing, but leave the healing requirement exactly as small as it was, changing nothing. Decrease it too much and you just have overheal spams for the purpose of damage.

so i have this idea so that healer is actually active in healing more than DPS-ing

1. Make it so that healer have a gauge that can only be accumulated by healing and raise (don't count overheal), that can be used to dish out a BIG Dps

and

2. Decrease the normal Dps spell potency (Glare/Broil/Etc)

The idea is to make people who actually heal and care for your party can dish out more damage than people who just throwing stone... Its frustrating to see a healer casting Glare in e4s last phase...

(I'm not a healer main not play healing a lot but i just want to share my though... any opinion is welcomed!)

Not to be rude, but every problem you have is a sign of good game design regarding the healers. Beyond that, what you want only serves to just reduce healer dps. the only way to make it frowned upon in the community is to remove it entirely.

I think you should back off on this one, nobody will realistically accept what you're advocating for since it just sounds like you're playing with bad healers or greedy healers

They aren't really a last resort anymore, sure, they are on GCD but casting 3 of them gives access to 900 potency spell, which means that each heal actually kinda had a potency of 225, since 4 GCD is required to dish out that damage. It's dps loss compared to casting glare but c'mon you have to heal at some point and the only oGCD aoe heal being assize and asylum doesn't really cut it, that's why the afflatus rapture is a god sent, it also has 20 yalm range too so you catch the potential bards that want to sit in the back.

The only problem I have are healers that refuse to heal even if it's needed if someone took extra damage, or the ones that refuse to heal because I am a white mage so naturally I can heal everything, I have to cast 2 extra gcd heals during high damage phases because the scholar probably decided to use his aetherflows for energy drain, that's fucking annoying and disrespectful. Healing the bare minimum is the thing you are aiming for, but sometimes shit hits the fan and you have to gcd heal if someone made a mistake, it's your fucking job, do it even if you miss 1 gcd. I usually have insane healing percentages in fflogs with normal overheal because the co-healer just refuses to heal, my first titan kill had me at 99% healing and something like 60% in damage, I wish fflogs would show damage and healing combined so this insane dps hogging would stop, keeping people alive is still the priority.

Tbh I have also done that, but letting dps stay dead is a huge dps loss compared to you losing 3 GCD's raising him up, yeah it sucks, but if you actually wanna do the best raid dps then that's is the best thing to do.
