It's even more of a Issue if the Issue itself (The Names on the Picture) are actually 100% Bots.
If someone names himself kahdskhapf laslifghalksfh, well.... that just calls for trouble in any Social Way.

That "The fish sense something amiss" thing was such a terrible way of discouraging fishing bots that I wish they'd just axe it entirely since it hasn't worked since the ARR days.
It would make sense for them to at least have a capcha or some other security feature on both log-in and account creation to discourage the fully automated gil farmers, though.
Captchas can be decoded and fully automated by Software, that's already history since a long time by now, probably 10 Years if not more so?
It needs more then that, basically Weekly Change of a Anti-Cheat Software or a regulare Packet Change so the Bots start to behave weirdly or even break.
That of course... is time consuming, it's a brutal neverending Fight for a MMORPG.
There is a good Example on how Bots affect a Game.
... looking back at Silkroad Online... ya, the Company gave up 2 Years after it's release and it has been overtaken by Bots, like... 1 Player owned 50 Goldbots ...
It wasn't even a Seller Company, it was the Community itself that told "Legit Players" to look for another Game to No Life for and playing with Hands had no Place in such a Game.
Just Memories by now but ya, I sure wouldn't want to see someone call me a No Lifer just because I use my Hands to play...
Oh god no, catchpas would be end of my subscription.
Then they may ban me, but im sick of this, if its rly good bots you barely notice ok, but that stacking mindless drones, who went where we cant actually go or stack on the same fucking pixel while doing msq... just no. We die on aoe cause server says "nope you were too slow" but they can go wherever they want and our clinents even accept it?
I hate bots to the point of violence. How i wish we could attack these vermin, or at least mpk them. Far to many concessions have been made to keep them safe, we need some in game morlocks hiding beneath msq area choke points to hunt them down and eradicate them, once it becomes to hard to keep them alive, we may see an actual dent in their numbers.
Anyone recall the Goblin Bounty Hunters in FFXI? Gods i miss them...

I honestly feel like they probably allow all forms of botting to persist largely because it's making them money, rather then it simply being that they don't care. Every single one of those gil farmers is paying a sub so they can hit level 50, and when I've been seeing over 100 of them active simultaneously on just Cactaur alone, that amounts to a lot of money across all of the game's servers.
It also bloats their account numbers so they can make publicity claims about the game supposedly having 10 million players when only about one of tenth said players are actually subbed, if even that.
They really have little to lose from a commercial standpoint by allowing them to exist.
