Is there any better way of reporting Bots?

We have this farming bot on the NA Mateus server. They have been reported by many players multiple times. I was curious is there any other methods besides the in game method of reporting them because its been happening for months now and there seems to be no action taken. The bot is running 24/7.

The only thing that a lack of action is doing is showing people that no action will be taken against bots which either makes people wonder why they even bother with the game since cheating is obviously look past or they start feeling that they might as well start botting because it seems like absolutely no action will happen.

Yes they are when they're posting stacks of legendary mats, aethersands, clusters, crystals and so much more killing the prices for legitimate gatherers who actually work to collect and sell. We have one on Siren who has been doing this now for months and who has been reported numerous times and is still running around selling not only the mats but the gil to those who want to buy from losers like this.

Gil in this game has meant nothing forever. Possibly the last time it meant anything was when people were pumping tier 4 materia into relics for 100-200k a pop, but that's about it.

It does for me. It's an MMO not MBO. You got to achieve things with your fingers and time, not programm. Isn't it unfair for those who actually play the game? You can't make friends with Bots. I think it ruins the game a bit.

You could try http://support.na.square-enix.com/co...382&la=1&fty=2 (for na account) and use the drop down at the bottom to select "report use of third-party software" then click next and fill out a form. I was told by a GM long ago that the out of game forms apparently work faster/better than in-game reports, but it's tedious and you're not likely to get results either way.

There really is no convenient way of reporting bots, though like others have said, it doesn't really matter when the GMs have shown a consistent lack of concern about them as the same bots are allowed to persist for months or years on end despite reports.

I don't expect the bots to ever go away unless a serious issue relating to third-party programs comes up that forces SE to adopt stronger countermeasures. Some people on my server seem to believe that there's some manner of mod/hack that's allowing others to tune into linkshells they aren't actually a part of, which I'm honestly hoping turns out to be true because as far as they seem to be concerned, social issues > gameplay issues.

The amount of money needed for a medium/large house is still pretty heavy for a casual player, and bots really don't help with that when they drive the prices of gathered and even crafted items into the dirt for the sake of faster sales.

Not to mention the bots themselves frequently are used to purchase housing, presumably with the intent of selling it.

It does a huge impact.

Maybe it doesn't for us, the old players. But new players have the strugle and the crude reality that no matter what they farm or the time they spend, they`re not going to make gil gathering/crafting because there are bots who will do it better and faster than them.

Ignoring the problem won't make the game better.

Pretty much my points exactly. I get that finding running software to catch bots is hard but when you have a play base provide you with all the information you need and still nothing happens then its safe to say its not a serious offense to SE. I'm a pretty new player and I have all my crafting and gathering to 70 so I'm only just starting to make gil. So I find a bot and I've played many other MMO's, report the bot and chances are you will never see them again.

So assuming that you want a MMO's player base to get bigger so the game keeps getting made. As a newish player and I see that. Why would I want to invest more time in a game that allows cheating? Would I play Overwatch if they let people run aim bots without getting band? DOTA? CoD?

Like its bad enough that I pay a monthly sub and I cannot even talk to someone at SE about a issue. Every other MMO I would be able to talk directly to a real person.

And who seriously sides with the people using bots?

The real issue with this is people do not pester them enough about the bot issue. Like when people ask them questions on the live letters, how people feel the GM team and task force team, and how we do not see a real impact fighting RMT and their bot army.
