made it to 197 myself before wipe by gloom all cause tank used are last orb to clear blind on 196 and so far haven't found a group to go back in so yeah can see them making them buyable to anyone sure suck as be good to get/buy it clear 200 trouble is unless they make it so can random group it 101-200 not everyone going to get there all cause you need to rely on 3 others and most time 1 or 2 are never around to finish or stop altogether

This is the one thing I hate most about 14. Doing anything that requires effort feels pointless because they will be handed out like candy later. All those primal bird mounts will be so trivial once people hit lvl 70 and unsync all the trials.

The easiest way to earn anything in game is to unsub for a couple patches. It really discourages active players from playing the game.

I like that they eventually make things more accessible. I was one of the first people to have the Firebird. Last night on the server, we did a parade around Idyllshire and there were dozens of them. I don't feel angry or resentful at all that I worked hard for mine and these guys got 99 totems or whatever to get theirs. And I won't mind in Stormblood when level 70s rake Zurvan over the coals and Firebirds practically drop from the sky.

The way I look at it, the rewards you really get from things like this are the lasting friendships with fellow FC members, the thrill of finally beating a hard boss, the growth in skill as a player. And for a couple months at least, a shiny toy that you can pose with on the ledge at Idyllshire.

(side note, I wonder what the new Ledge will be in Stormblood? Rhalgar's hand?)

Is actually playing the game not enough for people without a reward anymore? Like do you really need an e-peen booster shitty housing item to show off to people on your lawn that says you did it?

I can sympathize with the wipes, but I really don't think this is content that should be done with full matched parties like 1-100. Just one mistake on the later floors can lead to an entire wipe, and Floors 151+ take some coordination between the group members. I had a lot of success being in voice chat with my clear group, because if something happened like a surprise Mimic or a Luring Trap, we could call it out and be on top of the situation, rather than just hoping everyone was paying attention to the chat box for these things. Same thing with if wandering mobs ambush you: that's what caused my 197 wipe--ambush with two of the Fachan Ahrimans and a Deep Palace Keeper (and those things and their AOE do not mess around). It was also just unlucky to not have any Raising pomanders or the like, which is why my clear group was very selective about pomander usage. And we went into 191 with a very nice stock of them as a result of just being conservative.

I know a lot of people that are willing to go in and get a Floor 200 clear. With PotD going cross-server, it will be easier than ever to find people. You just have to take the initiative to do so.

I don't think that was what he was saying: just that sometimes, SE makes content easier to do, and invalidates the work of those who did it before whatever nerfs. While I am all for accessibility when it comes to content, I am not for handing out rewards without earning them. Which is why I sincerely hope the rewards are still locked behind Floor 200 completion, and something like a Firecrest --> Glass Pumpkin exchange, and not just a "have X item and trade in for Floor 200 item." My concerns are probably misplaced, but...it is what it is.

I've already cleared Floor 200. And I plan to go back in and clear it again. Because I found it fun, and because I want to. Same thing with soloing PotD. I don't really care about the title that comes with soloing up to Floor 100--I'm doing it because I want to.

That's actually pretty good, since those items aren't gated behind skill but a 4-man party.

If you sink 100 hours into something, your probably going to want something cool to show for it. And when you don't get anything cool, a lot of people are going to say "why bother"

For anyone that did get to level 200 and sees this, many will be discouraged from doing the next PotD.

The way its stated might be somewhat poor, it seems like it'll either be Potsherd trade-ins (making it similar and probably the same number as the HW Trial birds) or it lets you trade in one for the other (Firecrest for Pumpkins and vice versa). Thats what I'm thinkin anyways.

This is an incorrect assumption. While it's locked behind premades, it still requires skill and coordination past Floor 150. You still have to know what you're doing to get that clear, and even those who do can get screwed over by an ill-triggered Toading trap.

That's called an external reward and means you don't actually enjoy what you're playing. It means don't play it. If you need an external reward for what you're doing then the answer is don't do it.

As for what you have to show for it, you got it for a whole year before anybody else. Good job. It's been a year. You saved a year on it and got to play with it for a year.
