I feel these descriptions are meant more for shock value and fun jabs than any official origin story. The lore book goes into detail about the races, it wouldn't have just completely ignored this.

Plus, that'd be a really lame origin for a race.

I've heard more witty comebacks.

They involved flea collars, Ul'dahn miqo'te stereotypes and leashes, if I recall correctly.

I think when it comes to race jokes, midlanders got the best deal - you can't really make any really good or bad ones, they're all mediocre. Highlander jokes IMO are a tall order - I can only ever remember one. At least I can serve seven Elezen puns >_> I suppose I could moogle some more on the net. /huh!
