[QOL IDEA] Multijob Queue

that's not how i want to use this system.

what i would do or have done is queue for Frontlines on Tank so i can get Light on my anima and queue for Dun Scaith / Mhach / Void Ark on Healer or DPS because tank queues for those take forever.

the purpose of this system isn't to just get in fast.

i also think it's going to be too difficult to implement so it's probably never going to happen.

I just feel like this is, just que as tank but a 1% chance you'll que in progress as a dps or healer

It would be nice yes, but I don't see it happening since I think they're trying to avoid situations like what happened in 1.0 where it was very much possible for players to cheese their way through certain dungeon areas and bosses by class switching.

Less specs, WOW is not same specs and goes into maintenance constantly. and not asking for 64bit, asking if they have the multi job queue, nor Wildstar, Rift been a while wasn't an option back then. I'll check so far but yeah not really on par with FFXIV.

Probably depends on what you queue for though. DPS have much faster queues in any of the 24-man raids with only three tanks, etc. Plus, you wouldn't have to queue as a tank? You could just queue as healer or DPS. Or, you could just queue as three different DPS classes. It would be up to you!

It's already up to me.

My point is tank>healer>DPS for most content.

As you said 24 man, would probably be healer>DPS>tank

My point is when your chances of getting a job is so low what's the point?

It would only benefit someone who wants to que as three of the role. War pld dark, or mnk Blm nin. If that's the case you just want random job selected for you. Why not go with my original proposal just /random to randomly generate which job you'll play.

But if you queue for one job that will pop fast and another that will pop slow, you're always going to get the fast pop, which resets your wait for the other one. Also can't you just queue for Frontlines on a healer (along with those other three) and then switch to tank once inside? Does that affect light?

What if I queued under the new rule for an extreme primal with three FC friends? Two go as tanks/DPS, me and the third person go as healers/DPS. By doing this, we're no longer locked out of being matched up with any pre-mades that already have at least one tank or healer. Before, if we queued as tanks and healers only, we would ONLY be matched up with DPS or pre-mades containing DPS. Many people try to speed up their queues by partying with at least one tank/healer friend, which can actually slow the queue down considerably if the DF has to match a whole bunch of partial parties that don't have complimentary make-ups. This helps reduce queue length in a way that /random deciding on a role wouldn't at all.

This would be a wonderful idea, but it is a programming nightmare. Having different jobs in different queues is one thing, but having different jobs in the same queue, especially in parties, increases matching complexity exponentially. If you queue as two tanks and two healers, the game just needs to find you some DPS. If you queue as two tank/DPS and two healer/DPS, then there are exponentially more combinations. And what about the next people in the queue? If you're first, and there are two tanks and three DPS queued together behind you, the system would need to take that into account to make optimal decisions. And if they're queued as multiple jobs... it gets out of hand very fast. This is the kind of dev request that makes your programmers start polishing their resumes, lol.

Good point I was only thinking solo que for some reason. Would be especially good for slow content
