The Feast is SO much better without chat

Looks like this thread was pruned by moderators - some of the posts have disappeared, including one of mine. I will first restore my earlier replies (excluding the one quoting the deleted message), then address some of the newly raised concerns.

In this regard I'm a stounch adherent of Social Darwinism. People who want to get better at The Feast will get better whether we want them to or not. People who don't - well, in these case no amount of strategising is going to help.

I like how you put in that bit about freedom of speech. They were simply disagreeing with you, but I guess you needed to place yourself on the a moral high ground because you feel a bit insecure about how they have more people agreeing with them than with you??? xD

Hmmm, well doesn't seem you will last long. From what I have gleaned from the thread you don't know what you are doing. You liking that absence of chat is more understandable now. Ignorance is bliss of course. If you don't know you are doing something wrong then you must be doing it right. Hope you feel better about yourself ;)

yes februs, i think also SE is censoring the game but certainly because of the trashtalk otherwise i don't see why we get removal of the chat in feast and not in frontline, i see some good idea, the better would certainly be the mute button or black list for behavior and get the chat work again.
I say that because a lot of comment is like : agree there is offender and trashtalk, it's like this in any competition game. LOL is like this too.
It's a bad argument to me. When someone say i can't stand trashtalker i totaly understand this.
I hope SE will make the chat work again, there is better idea to get rid of the trashtalking.

People being jerks doesn't bother me in the slightest, my sole concern is them enthusiastically chatting during the matches instead of channeling said enthusiasm towards being actually useful. That being said, I'm all for productive communication. I love it when someone competent takes charge during the Frontline battles. The Feast, however, is ill suited for any form of complex communication - there's simply no time for that.

The ranked Feast match is not the place for The Feast 101. People should learn the basics in a more appropriate enviroment. If there's something you don't understand, the logical course of action would be to google it or ask the community or whatever else instead of rushing headlong into the jaws of death.

I admit I might have been distracted by something else going on at the moment, or perhaps I've assumed that someone would take the medal in question. Irregardless, let me assure you - in every single match I strive to give my very best. And while I definitely didn't shatter any records, I'd say I've done okay so far. These are my current stats.

The win rate of 67,5% means I've won most of my matches. While that number could've certainly been higher, it's safe to say I wouldn't reach it without at least some minimal effort. As for my low rank, I've been Mael from 2.0 and just recently switched to Adder to spice things up a little.

I was well aware that such a thread would make me a target for the hardcore PvP community, but, like it or not, someone should've presented a different point of view in contrast to BRING THE CHAT BACK NAO!!! If I'm to be villified for it, well, that's fine.

I think large number of people playing feast right now won't come back once they get the mounts/gears - they don't like PvP in the first place and they were never gonna become PvP'ers anyway. Maybe SE thinks these people are also most sensitive to harsh words and thus removing the chat function is the simplest way of avoiding drama (and not having to spend GM resources to investigate reports).

After the initial rush (one month?), whoever stay and continue PvP'ing are more likely those who find PvP interesting and willing to learn and improve - maybe then SE would re-enable the chats at that time? IDK, just guessing.

Here is why you are wrong, Trotsky. Taking away the chat does not help anything. It is just a lazy cut out to give GMs less work. It is not a good solution to toxicity. mute fuctions, better streamlining reporting, etc would help matters. If the GMs took action on people, maybe less will do i............
I think I know why....
Gms don't wanna be banning so many people, loss in revenue .. etc.. but ya there has to be better ways in dealing with this issue then the lazy cut out.
I will continue to say there is MORE toxicity in random DFs then PvP though, and chatting still exists there, my guess is people don't report them as often even though it does exist more. Was not to long ago in city where I saw someone sit out a battle because someone told that person to stop randomly provoking and turning the boss. Not playing because you do not like what someone said is very toxic.

Chipscape most likely feels they do not need to explain this to you, because how much was said already in the other threads, if you cared you would know all those reasons and not be saying what you said to Chipscape. I can understand what they mean, why can't you?

I think they should at least allow the auto-translate functions, if nothing else.

With such a low amount of matches its easy to have a high winrate (even higher) since you play against bad ppl alot of times lol

How do you know that the GMs time isn't consider better spent helping people with actual problems over the people with etiquette issues. If we consider RMT a more detrimental core problem it doesn't seem to get the same amount of resources that you guys want for monitoring PvP.

I am also confused by the point it is acceptable to be mean to your team. Generally it is frowned upon in most competitive circles. Pro teams dump players that cause to many issues like this. The problem is the ranked mode is solo it should only be team based and it should have chat. Enough of the players even generally decent human beings have issues when they lose X amount of matches where they can't control everyone and the match making system plots against them.
