I'm sure many games have gone as far as using a bird as a mount. :P WoW has more mounts than they do subscriptions.. lmao

They are not just any bird though, they were in FFXI. You don't remember how Carrion Crows looked like in East Saruta-baruta? Those are a direct rip. lol

Those birds are clearly ripped from XI. They have identical markings/proportions/apparent behaviour?/even the same floating height.

Reference for anyone who might want it, although it's not the clearest shot.

SE's pretty keen on shutting stuff like this down usually, I wouldn't be surprised if they get round to it eventually. I really hate plagiarism, it's just so lazy, is it that hard to make up your own bird/stupid dog-mount thing?

Thanks Sephr, for posting that picture. People here think that SE doesn't create their own mobs apparently. I have no clue wtf they are on, but everything about FF is original.

Perfect World, on the other hand, has seem to have copied the concept of a chocobo, but its not actually a direct rip. They can possibly back themselves up if they wanted to.

You mean some chinese made MMORPG rip off other game/media's IP? It's nothing new, and yes they can, because they have been doing that for a long time and legality obvious doesn't apply to them. Go have a look at Planet War and tell me how many games/medias it ripped off.
