Nope, open world because useless after level 59.
MMOs are not really made to last these days. You want a modern example of how a game is made to last: Play Adventure Mode (Diablo) Seasonal.
I'd love to have a relevant open world PvP zone with meaningful risk vs. reward mechanics in play. It won't happen because FFXIV isn't the type of game to have open world content beyond simplistic questing and gathering.
Beautiful Crystal Tower, Chocobo Breeding and Racing, Triple Triad, Gardening, Housing, Hunts, Coils, Crafts
people complain there is nothing to do yet they all overlook this aspect of the game, but as u all said everything is forgoten if it is not related to an ilvl and if it is not relevant for your raiding progression, they need to do something with them to make people want to do them, they are actually adding a lot of stuff to do in the game, a lot more than any other mmorpg i have played, the problem is a lot of people are not interested, except me i guess and some other folks, i do think void ark, airship adventures and 2 new dungeons will be a lot more interesting for the raiding community of the game,
My idea is expand on the Leve system and start to add max level ones that scale in difficulty and, of course rewards, from solo upto raid difficulty.
Would be fun partaking in or just coming across a party battling a raid difficulty Leve and spectating.
I grew up in DAoC and came of age in vanilla WoW. I thought those were as good as it got - the industry prefers you, though. There's more of your lot than mine, so it's only natural.
I guess I'm trying to say good is relative. I guess I'm trying to say FFXIV is adequate, and that further investment of resources to develop solo content can only happen at the cost of resources being taken from the development of compelling group oriented content. So when I say you're poisoning the waters, really, what I mean is that by asking for more solo content, you're asking for content that dilutes the entire purpose of the MMORPG: to play with others.
