I chose BRD for swift gameplay, if I wanted to cast I would have chosen a Mage.

Brd should have gotten more songs, instead of a attack buff with cast times. Give them a attack song that increases everyone's damage by 10%, except the brd it's damage. Maybe a HP or Haste song would work to.

However, the 10% damage buff to all party members would really benefit the dps check and would actually put the brd in a support role.

And whats the point of having rapid fire when gcd is faster than procs?

Try popping reload, rapid fire, and then do your 1-2-3 combo. Your 3 is not gonna deal the bonus damage from the proc.
This drives me crazy, and it kills all my hopes of maybe they will change gcd to 1,5 seconds in the future

I do agree with this. GCD is what kills the DPS on BRD and MCH, especially MCH.

It isn't GB or WM though, those can be incorporated for awesomeness. In my opinion.

I actually was just talking about this to some folks online. I said the exact same thing XD

That aside the post above mine made me recall that I do have an annoyance with WM itself. Now that it is instant is great I can use it as an opener, but why do I have to wait 15seconds to take toggle it back off lol I can understand the need for 15seconds to put it back on after its last use.... but I should be able to take it down when I need to.

If you've played an actual caster job (i.e. BLM) then you will see how ridiculous you sound. People have been dealing with these issues for 2 years, it in the end, it's the way they want the class to play. In fact, over time, they just make BLM less and less seamless.

A penalty for use, like cleric stance. All instant buff have to incorporate this for balance. Otherwise there will be no decision making when you want to use your buffs.

I have to agree with this. Bards just don't understand. They STILL have mobilty AND can still do damage. Like this person said, they have the option to maximize their dps and WM is toggle on and off.

Because they don't want it to be used as just a buff-canon and then be thrown away. It's like cleric's stance, gotta know when to pop it on and have to commit for that time.

From Patch notes:

the Wanderer's Minuet ・Action category has been changed from spell to ability.
・Damage increase has been increased from 20% to 30%.
・Cast time has been reduced from 3 to 0 seconds.
・Recast time has been increased from 2.5 to 15 seconds.

So why is this even being talked about anymore?

I dont think it sounds ridiculous per se, but yeah the Firestarter > Fire3 not immediately popping up w/ proc always did drive me nuts on BLM

I think it may be much more pronounced on MCH probably because they have more actions that combo?

Its still an issue because with Wanderer's Minuet on we still lose mobility. From what I have seen, the numbers with WM on (testing on dummy) still aren't worth the loss of mobility. Especially if you figure in the need to dodge aoe's.
After testing myself and other people's recommended opening rotations on a dummy, my dmg output with it on and off seems roughly the same (maybe just a smidge higher with WM on) but with dodging aoe's, WM's dmg would likely be inferior vs having it off and keeping the mobility and auto-attacks.

Anyways, I think the real issue here isnt the damage output at all but rather the immense change to Bard's playstyle overall.
Those who played caster classes before dont view this as a big problem, but those who didnt care to play caster classes and are now forced into that role, dislike the change.

But... but... your cast time is faster that current mages we have here and you should glad with it D:
