Pharos Sirius came out before there was any ilv sync in existence or even any minimum Ilevel entry. The majority of people doing it though were about i70+ by this point. Pharos was NOT hard, just people ignored the mechanics and it was inversely difficult to all the other dungeons because the stronger you are the harder it got, considering that before Pharos there was only Wanderer's Palace and Amdapor keep both those dungeons had been refined by grinders to speedrun extremely fast so when it came to pharos they approached with the same mentality and burning down the bosses resulted in a wipe almost always and pulling the first 2 sets of mobs also was a guaranteed wipe as the Elbst's have a nasty aoe coupled with vulnerability up from the leeches. The more dps on the first boss and last boss the quicker add's spawned, tanks spammed stun and never bothered to save it to stun lunatic voice. Zu was probably the worst as nobody really approached it correctly and either destroyed too many eggs which was a wipe or too little leading to the healer getting killed and again wiping.
I'm pretty curious to see what will be the fruit of Yoshi P's vague promise regarding Zetas "being taken into consideration". The ridiculous grind associated with building a relic did a LOT to revitalize old content, ensuring that there were always a lot of people running old dungeons and spamming FATEs and whatever who otherwise would have little or no reason to do so.
While it's certainly likely that the new Heavensward Relics will similarly be designed to revitalize old content, if folks who did the old relic grind are not sufficiently "rewarded" for their efforts, it may well make them AND new people considering building a relic for the first time, much more leery and reluctant. SE does NOT want to foster this kind of discontent in the people they're counting on to help new players through old content.
These are my thoughts exactly, if he doesn't make it relevant in 3.0 or 3.1 then I don't think many people will bother with the new relic unless it is significantly less grindy. People spent over 100 hours on these weapons on average and some people spent a significant chunk of gil which also takes time to obtain so if they just erase all of that I'm sure there will be a lot of skepticism moving forward and people saying why bother?
Cool then let them do the Alexander (Savage) to get their top tier weapon. SE gave everyone multiple choices. Do coil for a top tier weapon, grind out a bunch of easy stuff. Or have a weapon that's not top tier. Everyone made their own choices on what weapon they wanted and how they went about getting it.
If you regret the choice you made then it's no1s fault cept yours.
