Required rank on all gear

I wish people like you could look past industry standards and try to see the good in a system that at least tried something different. If implemented properly the optimal rank system would be more than sufficient, dare I say it would be good.

If the stat penalty was clearly shown then people would realize that they aren't gaining any benefit from it outside of optimal rank, especially compared to gear of their optimal rank. The penalties are there however they aren't clearly spelled out. In addition to stat penalties the equipment deteriorates at a much higher rate even one level under optimal. This is more noticeable on weapons.

Forcing rank requirements is an easy, lazy fix sure. It's safe and most wouldn't complain about it. However if they just fixed the optimal rank system it would work fine.

I'm not trying to excuse or polish a turd. I'll be the first to admit optimal has its flaws, the biggest one being the penalties not being displayed clearly enough.

SE do something! The noob over there can wear the same gear I can. It's an outrage!! You're killing my ability to stand around @ town in active mode showing off to all the noobs & saying "You will never get this! You will never get this!"

If the equip window showed what you'd actualy get vs that the base piece has more def at its optimal level, that would rock.

i agree anyone who rage for this request should try and find low level gear for there class one day. I can find any level 1-15+ gear and if i can i have to get +1 version which cost more or diff color and look like a rainbow due to this.

Please lock it to Class/rank enough said

Sorry but the only people who want this is people who want to dress up there female Chars and don't tell me i'm lieing.

if not make the 1-50 level lock then all new gear from now on should be level lock. even new craft item should be level lock enough said.

i'm sick of buying higher level gear because no one sell gear that i need for my level and if there is some i have to look like a rainbow due to people not selling all the color or i have to buy over price +1 gear.

Once we have a full class/gear swapping system in place I'm all for rank restrictions on gear.

Obviously, the optimal rank system had a purpose(changing classes is a nightmare and would be even worse with a hard restriction) but that will change.

I have always believed optimal rank gear was a band aid for no "outfitter" like function and nothing more.

Shut up about FFXI every game have a rank to wear gear FFXIV is the only one that i know of that allow us to wear whatever on what class you want. Not everyone on here care about FFXI anymore.

If you asking it should stay the same then you really need to look at it again. a level 1 should not be allow to wear level 50 gear for whatever reason it just dumb and the only reason most people want it is to dress up there char that fine but there other way to do this. make more underwear to dress there char and just take off all the gear and you can use that.
