Midgardsormr and his children [Spoilers]

Kuwagami's on track with my thoughts. That would suggest that the other dragon tribes are all descendants of Midgardsormr. And likely that each continent has its own Great Wyrm to rule its tribe, with Eorzea being outside of the norm with having one King (Nidhogg) and the King of Kings (Midgardsormr).

Whether or not Bahamut is the prime Meracydian is an other question though. Prime =/= strongest

I'm personally going with the Dravanians are descendants of the meracydians who were stranded in Eorzea after the Allagan empire fell...and it may be possible the Ishgardians are loosely descended from the Allagans themselves.

The fact that it was specifically pointed out to us now that we can sense them is important. Its possible the earlier times we were sensing something else; that strange feeling you get when you think someone's watching you...(also...see the Hildi questline. Good example of people sensing others but not seeing anyone. Yes, the subtle distinction is that the (ex)WoL turned to where Nab-whatever materialized, whereas in the past, it was more of sense of someone is watching us.

The best thing about our seemingly new sensory power is that the Ascians are still ignorant to it. Immediately after its discovery Nabriales is defeated. He could not even report it to the others. We have an advantage now, the abilities to sense them, and an, albeit imperfect weapon to slay them.

While it doesn't explicitly state where they're from, the Dragoon story-line claims Ishgards founders were led to that "Holy Land" by Halone. Judging from the Dragoon/Ishgardian weapon of choice and the fact that they're Elezen, I'm going to say they originated from somewhere in the shroud, be it Gridania or Gelmorra.

As for the dragons, I share in Kuwagamis theory to an extent. While I don't believe necessarily that each of Midgardsormrs children lead a horde of their own, I do think they spread throughout Hydaelyn.

I still think Bahamut was one of these children, but I don't think he was counted in the number residing in Eorzea because, well, he's been dead for a while. However, it would make a lot of sense that Bahamut be the Mericydian forerunner, considering he's now their primal, but that's neither here nor there.

Now, Nidhogg, in my mind, has to be one of the two in Eorzea. This is simply because he's an old and great wyrm and was involved in the very creation of Ishgard (the quest makes it seem like the same day it was founded). Ishgard is making another mistake, according to Midgardsormr, and it was his child that called for war. I believe the first mistake Ishgard made, was building Ishgard, presumably in Dravanian territory (perhaps it's their Holy Land too [Jerusalem]). I'm (completely) guessing now that Ishgard has plans to or has already started expanding...north, further into their territory (hence 3.0), and, well, Nidhogg's had plenty of time to recover. He's already lost a bit to the Elezen after failing in his defense, I doubt he's going to give up more of his land willingly.

The second Eorzean child is anyone's guess.

The land that is Ishgard, was always historically Elezen to some degree. It wasn't tell the Hyur invaded they withdrew to the shroud/Gelmorra. The Dravanians may well of come from Meracydia during the third astral era.

Bahamut lived and died a LONG time ago and was summoned back as a primal by his descendents, the Meracydians, then trapped in a moon for a few thousand years. He was a living dragon that was summoned back in primal form just as Good King Moggle Mog was a living king that was summoned back as a primal. All you need to summon a primal is a prayer or desire, a target to pray too, and enough aether to give your prayer physical form. An example would be if one day we get access to aether on Earth, then enough prayer to George Washington or Abraham Lincoln with enough aether would summon them back into the world in primal form.

I'm pretty sure that Bahamut is one of Midgardsormr's seven children, but not one of the two mentioned still in Eorzea since he's technically been dead for several millennia and imprisoned as a primal for several millennia more. We're aware of Nidhogg so far, so the second should probably be coming into our storyline during this fall before Heavensward and may be either Fafnir or Tiamat.

The Ishgardian dragoons are dragon slayers, so I'm pretty sure that's the first mistake. My money's on that dragons and people at one point were allies until someone broke the truce escalating centuries or millennia long war between mankind and dragonkin. If that's the case I think the start of the war was when Shiva fell in love with that Dragon who may or may not be Nidhogg.

They say there's 2 big wyrms in Eorzea. Not "2 son of Midgarsormr".
It makes Nidhogg, and the only other big and well known dragon who isn't totally dead is Midgardsormr himself.

We have no idea if Bahamut ever existed as an entity. Right now, Moogle Mog XII is described as just a story, not someone who actually existed. Ifrit, Garuda, and the other elemental primal (to the exception of Shiva) weren't hinted to be actual people in another time either.
Enough prayers could summon Abraham Lincoln, but it could also summon the Mighty Nacho Guy you just thought about.

Coil Spoilers actually do state Bahamut was of the first Meracydians and died, only to later be summoned as a primal in their attempt to stop the invasion by Allag, IIRC.

Quick question, at the bottom of the Agrius, there are one or two wyrm mobs called "Son of the Keeper" this isn't literal, right?
